After seeing the screens I'm interested. I'll keep this on the radar.

TalkBack / Re: Wii Fit Priced at $89.99 in the U.S.

Does any one honestly think that anyone (outside of Nintendo) will make "amazing use" of the board?

3rd parties barely get the wiimote right whether its lack of skill or their just lazy. There's no hope in the balance board :(

Well, I hope that the next boxing game makes more use of it. Prizefighter's use of the board only with the training mode seems sort of lost, but I'll play it just to make sure. I'm excited about the board since I've had lots of great ideas about and for it; I"m sure that once we all get standing around on it more ideas will come about and if Wii Ware seems as accessible as Nintendo wants us to think it is I am hoping for some quirky balance board based games.
No worries, if it gets boring you can always marry it yo your toaster or something.

I tend to be cautious when dealing with the Nintendo World Store- they often offer exclusives for people who preorder games, but then gives the item to everyone who goes to the release regardless of if they preordered or not. I'll just get it when they have it for sale.

This is the only Wii Ware title I'm actually excited about.

I've always wanted to play Jam With The Band, but was afraid to pick it up because I can't read Japanese, is it easy to pick up and play? Everything I've ever read about it sounds great, it would be nice to see a US release!

I was just complaining about being real tired of fantasy based rpgs and would wish someone would make a more mature attempt to add new material to the genre. Is Square Enix is planting thoughts in my brain!?!

What's the point of giving us the illusion of downloading something when we really aren't? What if they DID make you pay and what if they plan to?

I've had fun with every Atlus title I've bought, after watching some videos I am eager for it.

TalkBack / Re: Mario Kart Wii Gets U.S. Release Date
« on: March 12, 2008, 07:46:18 PM »
Is this wheel still just a useless piece of plastic?  Because I fail to see how that's "innovative".  Now adding some analog triggers, well then we'd have something worth wasting plastic over.

Check out this month's Nintendo Power, they have a breakdown of the wheel and the controls for the game. Yes it's just a piece of plastic, but I like it better than the Zapper which I still have no plans on picking up.
While I like that we'll get the game earlier, I also am wondering what Nintendo will show up with in the 3 and 4th quarters of this year. I know they will have something, but well, it's just too far to speculate about.
I think an 8 will be alright for the score. I was hoping for a way to customize the karts with different parts and stuff, but whatever. I'm sick of schooling fools on the DS, I'm ready to show some class with my Wii.

I just got DoReMi Fantasy as a gift and FYI: THE TEXT IS IN JAPANESE. WTF, FOR REAL, WHAT'S THE DEAL? I'M NOT DRUNK ENOUGH TO PLAY THIS.
BOO!!
Is this to be expected for future VC releases that haven't been translated for anywhere outside of Japan? The game is straight up for the most part, but it seems lazy. Maybe I'm picky or not drunk enough.

I've only been following the website after finding the podcast about six months ago. Honestly, this is the main place I come for my Nintendo news and info, I seriously appreciate everything that goes on the site. Also I don't think I would be having as much fun with my Wii if it wasn't for everyone's input about the system and the general background info that trails Nintendo's history. Thanks and keep it up!

I never had the N64, when it was out I was working in a video game shop and just really into portable games at the time. The boss didn't like me and at teh time the N64 was a dead system so I was in charge of all the Nintendo stuff. I would demo insane games, whatever I felt like because no one bought anything. I've always like Conker's Bad Fur Day.
I don't really have a solid opinion about the system, I don't hate it, but it seems so short lived that it's easy to sort of forget about it. I had friends who had it and played whatever I could. I was happy with the fact that cartridges were used. In my high school I remember kids at the end of the school year just playing Golden Eye and Mario Kart all day. It was a multiplayer deity, still could be.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: K.K. Slider... Animalize vs Human
« on: March 03, 2008, 07:08:18 PM »
K.K. Slider is such a great element to Animal Crossing. I've thought that his voice would be good to fake through a harmonica. It would be cool to try some covers.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Midnight Release!

In New York City there is the Nintendo World Store, they have regular events and things. I reserved my copy there in hopes that I can get it earlier that anyone else. They haven't posted on their site yet though. Now that we know the game is shipped I wonder what insanity is going to happen that weekend.

That said, it is pretty obvious that Okami is a Zelda ripoff... I mean, it's probably a great rip-off, but just look at the box art with the wolf. Twilight Princess, anyone?

Okami is not a Zelda rip off at all, they both have wolves, but so what? Okami came out months before Twilight Princess, they're two separate games.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Professor Layton is the new hotness?

It'sd got voice-acted anime. That's why everyone's drooling.

I'm not impressed with the video, I actually like the puzzles because they're killing me and it's uncompromising against all gamers as there is no difficulty level. Two sequels have been confirmed as well.

How can you not have a PS2, Kairon? It's the king of third party games!

Don't let my Wii and DS third-party library fool you. I was and am very much a diehard Nintendo elitist!

...what? Don't laugh! It's true!

Me too, Kairon I never owned any systems other than Nintendo. I'll likely pick up Okami, but Brawl is going to take all of my time. All the new added content in Bully makes me glad I never played it before, I can't wait.

I bought mine from the Nintendo Store and they made a big fuss about me buying the game. It turned out that I was the first person to buy the game. They took a lot of pictures of me in the foam hat and made me sign some forms. My geek badge will be printed somewhere for you all to point and laugh soon.

Nintendo Gaming / Drawn to Life coming to the Wii
« on: February 05, 2008, 11:55:55 AM »
I just read in Gamasutra that THQ is planning a to bring Drawn to Life to the Wii! This is great news, I have Drawn to Life and it's a really good game to play. Drawing the objects for stages was great with the stylus and on the Wii remote it could only be better. I only wonder if they're just going to bring over the whole DS game or make a new game altogether. I can't wait for more news on this!!

I thought that voice chat would be great in this, but then I thought- you can't really talk underwater, in fact when you dive with another person you most likely use the same communication tactics. This is a great form of realism that most would overlook. Cool review nonetheless.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Costumes
« on: February 03, 2008, 02:22:43 PM »
would like it if enhanced powers or different attacks came with different costumes or something, but I don't have any real hopes of that happening.  Everyone can change colors, but Wario is special...
