NBA 2K18 will be hitting the Switch before training camp opens for the 2017-18 season, with a global icon leading the charge.

2K announced today that the game will release on September 19, with Basketball Hall of Fame center and former rap artist Shaquille O'Neal serving as the cover athlete. Preordering the 2K18 Legend Edition (MSRP US$99.99) or Legend Edition Gold (US$149.99) will allow for the game to be picked up four days earlier, on September 15.

The limited editions will include a poster, trading cards, stickers and items for the game's MyTeam mode and ingame currency. The Legend Edition Gold will add more cards, a lenticular, and additional currency/items.

I saw the Globetrotters in 1983. Meadowlark wasn't there, but Curly Neal and Sweet Lou were!

That's cool, especially that you remember it so well. I have vague memories of seeing them when I was in elementary school. I think they bused us to the high school gym or somewhere else to watch. Maybe it was a field trip. I have a much clearer memory of a gentleman from the Washington Generals coming to my high school and giving a "don't do drugs" scare talk, lol.

It's nice that the Switch version is releasing day and date with the other versions and getting all the editions too. It's a good precedent.
