Another interesting tidbit from the investors meeting.
The Pokemon virtual console games released for the 20th anniversary have sold over 1.5 million. It also sounds as if Sun and Moon is not planned for a simultaneous worldwide release.

That's different terminology for the same thing. Winter 2016 in JP = holiday 2016 in NA = late 2016 in Europe/Australia.

NPD preview: Nobody wants to talk about hardware. In software: Star Fox Zero 5th overall in single-SKU or 10th in combined, Bravely Second 9th single SKU and Pokken 10th.

Pokken probably passed Street Fighter V as far as physical US copies goes. No numbers for that either, so we don't know for sure.

Considering all the controversy, Star Fox did pretty good. It also deputed high on the charts in Europe it's first week as well so the Western sales should make up for the Japanese sales. I've been playing the game recently and it's very obvious it had a low budget as well so it'll probably end up being profitable for them in the end.

So yeah, unlike what some people were saying Zero isn't going to kill the series. Now what they do in next installment is up for debate, but Star Fox lives to fight another day.

We'll see. For all we know, 10th place on the NPDs could mean 100,000...or it could mean significantly less. Judging by the PR spin, it wasn't a spectacularly good month for software or hardware, so ranking is definitely relative. We'll have to wait for the actual numbers to leak on the usual sites to know for sure.

I'm happy to see the actual best mascot game released last month take the Silver this month, though. That Ratchet reboot is excellent.

So Star Fox gets mixed reviews and is released on a pretty unsuccessful console but still sells pretty good. Nintendo should take that as a sign that people do like the Star Fox IP and do want to see the franchise continue.

Those are basically the same numbers Tokyo Mirage Sessions got during its first two weeks and the general consensus here is that it was a pretty big failure.

It might not click immediately-- it varies on folks' comfort with motion controls and the dual screen approach-- but I overall loved the game. Got all 70 medals!
