White/Black arcs are on the same cart/physical download (files sizes are the same), not sure about the 3rd Arc since it's not available yet.

Not sure why Media Create combined the two versions. Would loved to see how split the two versions were.  Special Edition comes with all three arcs.

I really wanted Fire Emblem to bomb due to that "pay" per arc crap they are pulling.  Also Nintendo only printed a very small amount of special editions (they were sold out weeks ago).

Capcom was called all kinds of names with Street Fighter X Tekken but it looks like Disc locked content is going become more of a norm now.

Why was this game DELAYED in NA?  When Ubisoft delayed Rayman Legends WII U the internet explodes but NoA is doing the exact same sh!t and nobody bats an eyelash about it.

Splatoon could be another evergreen title for Nintendo :).  Very nice numbers for a new IP.

"Oh, and I will say I'm done buying Sony handhelds.  The vita is a great handheld system that has been left on the side of the road in a desert without any water"

Yeah, I feel the same way.  Overall it's the better handheld system but it's not getting any support from Sony.  Things started to go bad when they decided to overcharge on Memory cards and funding both Call Of Duty and Assassin Creed.  What a waste of money that was.

Where's my Valkyrie Chronicles 3 Sega.  It wasn't localized to the PSP because of privacy but what's stopping it from coming to the VITA at least?

Splatoon numbers are just insane :().  Japanese gamers tend to avoid shooters like the plague but this one might hit the 1/2 million mark.

Wonder what the NA sales are, Nintendo has a quarterly report due in a few days so we might actual get those numbers for MAY.

83
Porting isn't the same as making the game straight out?  Shenmue costed 60+ million and Shenmue 2 was nearing the 100 million mark.

It sounds like Sony's footing the bulk of the cost?  Or course this could end up another Beyond Good and Evil 2, just a teaser with more promises that turn into vaporware years down the road.

-------------

But porting an game shouldn't take to much effort if the framework (engine) is already supported.  For example last year's COD Advance Warfare, the engine already was running at the WII U (COD GHOSTs), so the software complier/toolset is already created.  Sure, it's not going to sell well but even if it sold at a slight loss having the next COD game outweighs all the negativity that comes being the only console without it.

" It's not going to help the Wii U and it'd hurt their position when they're trying to work with third parties in the future."

This isn't something that happened yesterday, this is YEARS in the making.  Nintendo has a freaking Warchest of billion of dollars over the years yet they can't afford to give the the developers a few extra manpower/money to help with development costs?

Porting a game costs a million or so for an AAA title but a lot of these games can be ported for a lot less. I would just focus on the top 5 sellers like Call of Duty, Minecraft, Fifa, ect.

Think my biggest disappointment was the lack of any 3rd party game, Nintendo had another year to get some of these multiplatform titles ported over to their system, yet choice not to fund/barter/plea to get any of them?

Platinum Games is making an cel-shaded Transformer game for everything but the WII U?  Call of Duty skipping the WII U again, Plants vs Zombies: Modern Warfare 2 (which uses Frostbite 3 I believe) is a no show?  Nintendo was promising 3rd party support a few months back but the only thing they showed was the Next Skylanders game to have AMIIBO support?  BIG FOOKING DEAL %$**#

General Gaming / Wow, Square-Enix E3 show
« on: June 16, 2015, 02:01:24 PM »
Man, the fook is up with them some a bunch of mobile games?  They should have saved that FFVII remake for their own show because they are drowning in their first e3 show.  :(

Just painful to watch.

87
Think Platinum Games has two many projects going on at once IMO so the quality of their games will likely be lower than what most people are comfortable with.  They are making Transformers, Starfox, Scalebound, Neir 2, and one undisclosed game.

Work is work so they are grabbing any projects that are thrown their way but I think the outcome is written on the wall.

88
Some good 3DS news but the WII stuff was pretty brutal.  Animal Crossing and Mario Tennis were the two new wii U titles.  Xenoblade gets a date (Dec 4th) but there's very little to get excited for next year other than Zelda.

89
I was more surprised at the reaction of FFVII remake announcement, I always knew it was just a matter of time for it to happen.  There's some very funny youtube vidoes of people going bat-**** nuts over FFVII Remake.

Other game for example, PvZ2 you have custom gear that clearly gives you the advantage but there's modes that disable them (welcome mat) but I'm not sure if Splatoon has something like that--it really should IMO.

COD/TF2 you couldn't adjust your basic stats though, Splatoon is more like Destiny where high level guys have a clear advantage.  2x fire rate, increase damage output, and defence boost and you'll see my point.  There's a difference between the two.

92
? Very strange.  My mages are going be stronger than bowmen and bowmen are going be able to take out paladin/generals if they are equip with lancers.

It's going be interesting to see what other changes this will effect but some classes like Paladin's are multiple weapon users so it seems like they are going be at extreme advantages against someone like a mage who can only use one weapon class?

Not sure if I like the idea of weapon upgrades/leveling in a casual shooter, especially given some of these upgrades like 2x fire rate is going be an extreme advantage against "newbies".

Also there's a point sensor that will help a great deal IMO.  No more "roller" riding my arsehole :).

"You could easily have 50+ 3DS devices to help speed up the competition."

Doubt it, more hardware makes it harder to for the few Nintendo employees to keep an eye out for those that would taper with the machines.  The event goes by score so it really don't matter if you show up later in the day as long as you're in before the cutoff 750.  I doubt people are going be lining up for this one, other than free E3 tickets, Nintendo hasn't stated anything about flying/paying for hotels/or prizes yet.

Really don't know what to make out about the 50/50 split (namely the ones that EARNED the right to play at e3 vs the ones Nintendo selected themselves.  I'm guessing Nintendo's going with "celebrities"  like Reggie for example.  Or maybe through in a twist and have those 8 players paired with the 8 other winners for a celebrity tournament faceoff--man that would be epic--I would watch that just to see the actual gamers "eye" rolls when they are told.

97
"The games are going to be Ulitmate NES Remix Championship mode. So Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, and Dr. Mario. I feel that is a stupid decision and nostalgia pandering myself, but it is what it is"

Not even going bother watching this crap.  Man, disappointed to say the least.

98
"A document from The United States Patent and Trademark Office has emerged which reveals that Nintendo have been given six months in which to file a statement of use of the Eternal Darkness trademark or risk losing it. They may file for extensions a total of five times, giving them a total of thirty six months to use the Eternal Darkness trademark or they will forfeit it."

Nintendo extended it again in Dec 2014, so it has another 3 or 4 times it can extend--so by July 2017 if not sooner.

99
Nintendo continues to "extend" the trademark rights for Eternal Darkness but it's well past the 5 year mark so you can file for abandonment forcing Nintendo to either use the mark or give up the claim.  Of course Nintendo could just re-release the game to VC or something making it viable again.

Personally I not sure why Nintendo just didn't give up the rights back to SK since they haven't showed any interest in the IP in over 10 years now?

100
I would go with Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, and Splatoon.  Smash WII U is going be headlining EVO 2015 which is two weeks after E3 and it's a bit more hardcore for the casuals at E3.  Smash is exciting to watch when two pros go at it, not when a bunch of casuals players going head to head spamming the same moveset over and over.
