Wonder has anyone read anything about idle players?  During the test fire it didn't seem to kick them and can you even join a match in progress?

Finished up Bayonetta 2, loved the combat, but the plot left me feeling like this:

"While it’d be nice if you could seamlessly buy or equip different weapons and gear in between matches (you have to back out to the main menu), "

No way, I assumed in the global testfire that this was just a beta but in the retail game I expected to be able to switch classes between lives yet you can't even switch weapons between matches is freaking STUPID.  You should have preset classes (like is another other FPS lately) so you can "adapt" on the fly.

Maybe Neal missed something or maybe classes "unlocks" at you get father into MP?

Played the last session against two people who were clearing using some cell phones to talk with one other, also most likely part of the QA testing team sense they seem to know "tricks" on the maps a tad to well.  In the Warehouse map there's a 2 story block that can't be painted but they were able to get on it by having one of them near it (far side of it from their spawn location) and having the other squid-jump from base.  The guy up top with a charged shot while the other guy was a roller.

The spotter/sniper stayed up high while the roller guy painted like mad, get behind the roller guy and his buddy will shout out to him your location.  Played two rounds with these guys and they did the same thing both matches so it wasn't just random luck on their part.

Wonder if the Console RPG's are just dying in Japan--it's handheld or bust at this point.  Xenoblade is selling at what I expected which is going be around 600-700k global, not sure what Nintendo is expecting or the budget of this game but the Xenoblade games haven't sold all that well in Japan.

Lost more rounds then won but managed to be top spot a few rounds too.  Didn't mess with the controls but the default aiming is stiff IMO, think next time I'm going see tuning the controls.

The sniper rifle (charged gun) seemed like a waste--doesn't cover a lot of ground meaning you really shouldn't have to many of these snipers on one team (we had four in match I played and lost 12% to 70ish).

Rollers do seem OP but you can jump over them if you time it right.

The map was very limited IMO.  To many objections couldn't be painted or climbed not sure if all maps are going be like that but if felt like you were forced into certain paths.

NO VOICE Support really hurts this game IMO.  Couldn't communicate with so any type of strategy is thrown right out the window.  There's some high ground advantage points that are key to winning the game but you have to someone camp there (so others can spawn to that location),

Overall fun game, not sure if it's going be worth $60 though.

Doesn't sound like Nintendo's shipping a complete game which most likely kill the review scores.  5 maps for a $60 game?  Also both Europeans and Japanese are selling the game at a reduced price while still no word about the NA market?

Plants vs Zombies 2 Garden Warfare shipped with small number of maps and had free DLC content added later but it shipped at a starting price of $40 though.

Man, sure Nintendo's making a profit but those WII U numbers are sure ugly and it doesn't look like Nintendo has any more faith in it coming back with that forecast of only 3.4 million for a year.

I'm not expected to see much at E3 for the WII U other than the already announced titles.

I never could figure out why certain regions get different price points but Splatoon is selling in Japan at 5250 yen ($42) but it's retailing in the US at $60?  Has Nintendo set the price on Splatoon for NA or is that just the suggestion retail pricing?

I gave up Yoshi's New Island on World 5; Arzest really needed to step up it's game because this one was bland.  it's not broken by any means but it's so "been here done that" gameplay that I kept falling dozing off.

In japan there will be an standard edition or collector's edition (which includes all three arcs as well as art book).

There's no plan for a limited edition digital copy (meaning standard only).

Not sure what the Japanese think about this but man, that 's just brutal sh!t IMO.

Disc locked content or in this case, cart locked content.  It sounds like there's a turning point in the story where you are led down a path (A) and if you want to play path (B) you have to buy it to unlock it :( even though it's one the cart.

On top of that is another "arc" path C which might be more or less filler or side story for one of those other character but not much is known about it other than it's DAY 1 content that you have to purchase to unlock.

I was all for Nintendo and DLC but this is BS.  Capcom tried this a failed (SFxT).

Price Drop for WII U, at least $50 if not $100 off.  Nintendo needs to generate a few positive numbers prior to e3, hell I'm surprised they didn't pull the gun since Sept.  It's long overdue.

Some Smash Brothers news, DLC and update/patch coming prior to evo2k15.

I don't think you understand who Nintendo development works, producer>director.  The producer is the one who calls the shots so even if Amano wanted VC (he never states if he was for or against it) it wouldn't have matter since the higher ups already canned the idea.

Nintendo's known to be a stick in the mud (read Retro Studios early days with Metorid Prime, Raven Blade, ect). So all those that work at Nintendo now or more or less "yes, men".

? Splatoon has a  senior producer, Hisashi Nogami, and he's been with Nintendo over 20 years so that's not exactly young blood.  It was his choice to canned VC, not the directors.  Hense my point.

"I really don't get why people want Mario Party to be online"

I'm an adult, mid 30's and don't have kids and the few gaming friends I do have only play two types of games--COD type or sports.

Back in the 90's, I was younger in high-school/college so getting parties together wasn't that hard to do then but nowadays I work swing-swifts so I never know when I'm available and most of my older friends have busy schedules as well with their own families so local play for me is pretty much out of the question.

Usually they have their restructuring of teams listed in their quarterly reports but it's pretty dry reading.  What Nintendo's main problem is most of the "people" in charge are all old farts who maintain old ideas.  What they really need is fresh blood in the project leaders--hey I want VOICE CHAT IN MY GAMES, just because they didn't have that option in the 90's doesn't mean you should exclude that NOW--Splatoon I'm looking at you.

Or no Online MP options like Mario Party 10-- :(

Finally gotten around to playing Destiny and I knew I would be disappointed with the story but man, that story was rubbish.  How the hell can you spend 100+ million on development and not put a single thought into plot?

Also didn't love the grindfest the game turn into at lvl 20.  For those that never played the game, your exp is capped at level 20 but you can still lvl up your character to 32 with armor upgrades but that's where the game is broken.  For one you have to GRIND the **** of the game to BUY anything from a AI seller; there's no trading system so that's out; and finally the deal breaker for me, the loot system.  WHY the hell was I getting legendary items for other classes but my own? (^%*&) $*.  Can't sell them and can't wear them but they do look might terrifying in my INVENTORY.

I'm used to grinding in RPGs but why the hell am I doing it in action games (GTA ONLINE, DESTINY).

Called it from day 1 :).  I think it would have been more shocking "news" if it was released on time.

Still that's going leave a HUGE gap to fill at e3 and I doubt third parties are lining up to play that role.  Retro Studios is about the only thing that can save E3 for Nintendo this year.

During the recent PSN flash sale I ended up wasting a $1 on Game of Thrones, when I purchased it I assumed it was the Telltale game instead I ended up with one published by Atlus.  Spent hours downloading the damn thing and was so excited when it finished--then bam, the biggest disappointed guy ever.

The good news is I'm not the only idiot that bought that version :(/

Valkyria Chronicles (PC) selling 200K makes me happy.  I really wish Sega would port VC3 at some point in time.

When Steam first started I figured it was the killing blow for the PC but in a lot of ways it's what saved the PC.  Now with both Sony/MS systems being x86 based porting games over is easy as pie.

The Wii U is having a bit of a rough start for first quarter in japan but an new Mario Party game is due out next week so I'm expecting some decent WII U numbers.

123
Rock Band 4 is out of the question and that's an EA published title so if they weren't planning on bringing over a casual game to the WII U I doubt they are willing to bring over Starwars.

My best guess would be the new Guitar Hero game that will be announced at E3.
1.  Tantalus never worked with Activision meaning it would be an new publisher for them so it's a step up from Square/Enix.
2.  it's a casual game that targets the core of WII U owners.

Atari had it's moments though but back then it was the "wii" of it's days where more games were made but few gems were created.  The Atari 2600 was my first console and even though  I was around 3 I still recall games like Pitfall, Joust, Asteroids, and hell even Mario Bros started out on that console.

Atari just didn't know enough how to market itself and people ended up with crap like ET because of the name brand.  That's one thing Nintendo did right, make sure games were actually Playable before printing them on carts.

Yes, I own ET too--even though I was only 4 or 5 at the time I still recall it being a sh!t game that made no sense at all.

Actually Bayonetta 2 still is ? at this point since there's plenty of loopholes for the developers/IP holders (PG/sega).  In the past the easiest way to break the "exclusive" clause was to rename the title to something like Bayonetta 2nd Strike or something.

And there's one last noteworthy 3rd party title that has a possibility of being ported, Lego City Undercover.  Again, Nintendo published it but it could have been just time exclusive for all we know.
