I would have thought F-Zero would sell better. And the Cube version of Madden NFL sold pretty bad compared to the XBox and especially PS2 versions- ah well, I guess that's good for a sports game on the cube.

F-Zero is being marketted all to hell, and it's getting good reviews across the board.  Hell, even I own a copy of the game, and I don't remember the last racing game I bought.  (Wave Race 64?).  I am very surprised that it didn't do better.

Soul Calibur II is just common sense.    Of course the GCN version is doing the best.

F-Zero should pick up pace next month, it came out very late in the month and was hurt early on from all the Madden/SC2 hype. And look at Mario Golf, it sold more this month than it did last month... for some reason. F-Zero GX should be on that chart for a while methinks. And the PS2 version of SC2 should outsell the other versions in the long run.

It seems most of the Gamecube's software sales are all localized. The highs aren't that high but the lows aren't that low either. Looking at the sales data alone, it would seem that Gamecube owners have a lot of good titles to choose from and the sales are spread out among them, so that while no one game (besides SC2) sold a whole lot, they all sold moderatley well. On the other hand, both the XBox and PS2 have a few that stick out above the rest and everything else falls way behind.

Of course I could've told you this without looking at sales data, but it's nice to see it confirmed.

Are you sure about that 21% decrease?  The Reuters article said video game sales UP 4% but by the looks of your figures, that doesn't make sense.

yea that doesnt make much sense. but if they are down 21 percent, then nintendo must have made a killing in july. either way, i dont think these numbers are that bad. nintendo is hanging in there.

Yes the hardware sales of the GameCube are down 21%.

Sales of actual games are up though, i think you're confusing sofftware and hardware sales.

Yes, but aren't all console sales down?

Anyone ever read that Orwell book?  What was it called?

1984, that's it.  Things are starting to look familiar...

Doom forcasts aside.  I'm very glad to see that software sales on the Cube are up.  I'm also happy that several key titles like Metroid Prime and Animal Crossing are headed to the Player's Choice line-up.  This should give them the proper attention they deserve.  Plus, when that $99 price point hits, that should perk things up in the hardware dept.

I know I'm seen as a fantatical Nintendo supporter, but still, this is a great time to buy a GameCube.  Price drops, free games, bonus discs, the GBA player, it just keeps getting better!

Yes, all console sales are down this month, except for the Xbox, which grew 6%.

Hopefully the new Zelda bonus disk pushes a few cubes when (or if) it comes out. Mario Kart: Double Dash will most definately sell it's fair share of cubes, however with Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy pushed back to next year im concerned that Nintendo dont really have any system sellers besides MKDD. Viewtiful Joe and Billy Hatcher could be surprise hits though, if advertised right. 1080 should sell well. Mario Party 5 should sell well. They need more though...
