I looked over pages of documents earlier; and now I only get the message that my time has expired.  I don't know how to get it to work again.  All I can do is offer the link to the original thread on nintendo.com.  the thread

I swear on all that's holy I looked through twenty something pages of drawings with urls containing Nintendo in them multiple times.  I don't know what happened to the pages.  Maybe they were taken down at the request of Nintendo.

All I know is I had just started reading page twenty six where the written description began and when I tried to go to the next page the time out message began appearing.

It all described a vr helmet supplying left eye right eye images that contained an internal sensor (probably a gyro) that allowed the user to control the camera via head and body movements.  They described the sensor as detecting the attitude of the helmet.  I looked specificly at images of the sensor that had arrows indicating the movements it could sense such as turning your head left to right, tilting your head in any direction; as well as detect some kind of up and down movements.

God, I should have saved the pictures onto my computer.  Would there be some way I could find them in my computer even though I didn't save them?

The USPTO search can time out. A document that's on there cannot be withdrawn unless the patent is denied since patents must be publically detailled so everyone can read what they're not supposed to do.

Nintendo has a lot of patents that never made it onto the market so I doubt this is a hint. There's e.g. a keyboard that can have its buttons reconfigured (you take a button and place it anywhere on the surface) that I don't think the world ever saw.

BTW, other patents in there include a gyro-controlled golf club and a baseball game.

So? I can file a patent for a nucular powerd shopping cart, but it dosn't mean I'm going to do it. It's evidence, but not proof.

Sony took out the patent on beaming things into your brain. Nobody's speculating that the PS3 is going to do that.

When I tried to get there, the pages showed a Quicktime logo, as if it was trying to load a video or quicktime picture and then blank.  Nothing.  On any page. ( i only tried 2 or 3 pages before giving up).

Anyone manage to save anything that was on those pages? or remember enough to give decent descriptions?

I clicked the Link and couldn't get in.  All I could get was the Publication number of the patient.  So I copy pasted it and searched the main page.
What I found was that although the link does have to do with virtual reality, it has NOTHING to do with Nintendo.  Nor is it being communicated to be used with games.
Yes, it probably could be used with gaming, but not anytime soon, and not in the current state of design.  Its big clunky and would be expensive to create.

So this is just another bogus claim...unless I am seriously missing something...which I doubt.

Here is a few interesting patients made by Nintendo.

To make it easier to find just in case timeouts occur here is the Publication Number of the Patient.  Just go to the home page and do a search using the Publication Number and you can find this.

20050125630  A patient about veters or something...its beyond me.

20050124401  The Patient for the Gameboy Rotation device used for WarioWare Twisted.

20050101364  Bongo drum Patient

found it,  thanks

But why do my links from earlier today before the time out say Nintendo in them repetedly and these present addresses do not?  I definately think it is vr for video games (what the hell else would it be used for, you gonna watch tv on it?).

The shopping cart would have a small nuclear (nukular? haha!) reactor to power its headlights and turn signals. DUR

Nemo:  I dunno.  That is kinda wierd.  Is the Patent I found the exact one you looked at?  If so then I dunno.  All I can report on is what I saw.

Also I do think that it could be used in Video Games, but not for a long time.

Other things a VR helmet could be used for is advance science experiments.  Imagine being able explore the solar system from satalite images surrounding you and taking you on an VR trip through space.  Or the human body, or more.

There are other elements besides games.

Doesn't have anything to do with Nintendo.

Just doing a patent search on "Nintendo" doesn't mean the patents are theirs. Read the headers.

This has come up multiple times now.

Like has been said, it doesn't seem to actually be directly linked to Nintendo.
