Seven? Are you kidding? That's about 120 in Internet-years!Update: A little birdie told me that we actually started on March 7th, not the 6th...oops. So this article is getting post-dated. So much for quality control! ;-) Or maybe we're just becoming forgetful in our old age.
Planet GameCube began its tumultuous life as N2000HQ on March 7, 1999. That's seven years ago, today. As the oldest existing GameCube-centric website, PGC is so old that it existed two months before "Project Dolphin" was announced as the GameCube's codename. We've survived the dot-com bubble, hackers, and skeptical game publishers.
Today, Planet GameCube looks much the same as it has for years, but things have changed. The site is running on a lean and powerful new database to give you easier access to our huge archive of information. We have hired a large staff of amazing volunteers who bring you all the latest Nintendo news and reviews, every day. We have developed some of the tightest quality control and editing standards in the gaming press. And we have built up the finest group of Nintendo fans in the world...in fact, our readers span the entire world!
We have big plans for PGC in 2006, to go along with Nintendo's new console and the advent of online gaming with the DS. Stay tuned, because it's getting better all the time.
As in years past, we invite you to participate in the site's birthday celebration with a huge new contest -- details will be coming soon, so look out!
