General Chat / have you seen the ring
« on: April 15, 2003, 09:22:50 PM »
I just watched it and i thought, "finally a movie that is scary."  I mean you dont need blood and guts to scare people, you need twisted bizzare stuff.  Just wanna say it is now on my top 10 list.  If you havent seen it, watch it ALONE at NIGHT, with NO SOUNDS to bother you.  I keep on waiting for my phone to ring......

Nintendo Gaming / e3 list
« on: April 15, 2003, 09:16:03 PM »
IGN has put up a list being updated daily of confirmed titles, I will tell some.  I am not sure if i can link to it.
however there is a game named "GAMEZERO"  which i assume is a secret game and also the is "SECRET SILICON KNIGHTS PROJECT."  many more are listed.  The article is not locked and can and should be read by everyone.  Many good things to see, however I didn't see FF:CC or FF: tactics there.  anyway, go read the article, it is on the main page under headlines.

Nintendo Gaming / cel-shading art
« on: April 09, 2003, 11:54:03 PM »
Cel-shading can have such a definitive look and can give you a feel of a game easy.  There are so many ways to make things look and move.
My Question is: What cartoonists style would you like to see a cel-shaded game based on and why?

Don't just say anime, give specific names.

Although i am the biggest Otaku i know, i would have to say Jhonen Vasquez who does Invader Zim, Squee, the Bad Art Collection, and of course the famous JHONNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC series.

The reason i choose these art style is it is so sharp, yet so twisted.  Everything looks scarry and evil.  The colors work beautifully.  And the people are just so cool looking.

Here is some awsome artwork from the show Invader Zim

Nintendo Gaming / What you think of new pokemon
« on: March 24, 2003, 05:44:46 PM »
I can't begin to express my love for it.  I haven't enjoyed pokemon this much since i first played blue (and i have plyed every single one thorugh.  It is my favorite in the series.  I am 19 and love it.  About not having all the pokemon, well isn't the remaining pokemon suppose to be catchable with the GC hookup.  It would be cool if the game cube version opened up johto and kanto in 3d.  Or even just as an extra feature.  And that you load your character info from ruby or sapphire(i have sapphire) as to get the rest.  Anyway we'll see.  Just wanna know how you guys liked it.

I tried to get into one foreum and for the life of me i couldn't, i had to know names of peole i never heard of and sign up for all these newsletters which i didnt want.

One question though.  Do you have a newsletter.

Nintendo Gaming / The new Pokemon Game for GCN
« on: February 16, 2003, 06:04:08 PM »
Alot of you are probably excited and alot of you are probably very upset, but pokemon is head back to the console systems which leads to an important question... what are they gonna do with it?  The pokemon franchise is very valuable and very unique, there are many directions they could take this new Game in.  I hope it is not another Pokemon Stadium, but soemthing new and innovative.  I would like to hear all information you guys have on this new GC release, including the facts and what you would like to see in it.

Plus, what do you think of it being cel-shaded, good or bad?

Nintendo Gaming / the "other" big cel-shaded game
« on: February 11, 2003, 06:18:15 PM »
While we run around like chickens with our heads cut off over the new Zelda game, i think there is a game who takes cel-shading to an ENTIRELY diffrent level.  I'm talking about the mysterious looking game called Killer 7.  The drawings seem to fade into each other almost mesmorizingly.  Every character looks almost like a surreal painting.  And the blood is just the nicest i have ever seen, not because it is realalistic, but just its glowing color and the way it splats very realalistic.  The whole look so far reminds me of a very jazzy game, but much more darker.  I would appreciate comments on this other cel-shaded game.

General Chat / Have any of you heard of NOIR
« on: February 11, 2003, 06:12:31 PM »
It is an assasin based anime that would be perfect for a game.  The system, doesn't matter, the anime had no blood, so the game would need no blood, making it very friendly to a wide audience.  The plot is not so thick you cant make a game out of it.  In fact it almost seems like a game, how the characters work toward little pieces of info, and more importantly, each ep has a specific "foe" to assaisin.  Their are even the simple guys, they all look the same and have horrible aim.  I say we get into production right away.

General Gaming / HAVE YOU SEEN PSCYONAUTS
« on: February 07, 2003, 08:32:18 PM »
Talk about a cool game, its for "The X" by the way, you are a kid who was raised in a circus and worked with the acrobats (where he gets his cool flippy moves from) and at the fortune tellers (Where he learns to harnest his psycic powers).  One day a group comes and takes you to a summer camp for training people with psycic powers(a very cheesy camp by the way).  You awake one morning to find out that everyones brains have been stolen.  To get then back you must(and this is what is cool right here) enter the minds of the mentally... ahem..... disturbed and play through there worst nightmares and paronias.  On top of that the visual style is very cool too, if you have ever seen anything by Jhonen Vasquez you will know what i mean.  He did Invader Zim, Squee, and Johnny: the Homicidal Maniac.  Check them out.  Anyway, i hope this has turned you on to the game, but by gamecube games first *wink wink.
