DS has to be strong in Germany because Iwata recently mentioned that it had 18 of the German top 20 game list.

Strikes me as improbable that HM takes first spot on the DS or overall sales.

Oh it was, it just doesn't strike me as a game that'd take #1. Stores aren't stocking more than a handfull of copies AFAIK.

Famitsu Top 10 May 7-13:
http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/200...71799,0,0.html

1. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War (PSP)
2. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS)
3. Super Paper Mario (Wii)
4. Wii Sports (Wii)
5. More Brain Training (DS)
6. Momotarou Dentetsu DS: Tokyo & Japan (DS)
7. New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
8. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree (Wii)
9. More English Training (DS)
10. Brain Training (DS)

DSL - 160,009
Wii - 55,724
PSP - 33,438
PS2 - 11,854
PS3 - 8,962
360 - 2,369

Things are NOT looking good for PS3 in the [strike]home[/strike]Nintendoland.
Maybe those rumors of a price drop near the end of summer will come true.

Hopefully for Sony's sake a certain Japanese developer is wrong, and the price is the issue and not the fact that the PS3 is ginormous  in comparison to the Wii (he also said the price and size of the 360 wasn't the problem, but the size of the power brick is). Apparently Japanese people are very space constrained and don't have alot of room for oversized electronics.

Haven't really been online lately, my computer is still broken and I'm waiting on the motherboard replacement, so I'm using a shared computer right now which limits my time online. I've also been trying to catch up on all the TV shows my DVR is recording so that I can delete them off my box (I got really backlogged on 24 due to watching Heroes first instead). I also just moved and and am now looking to buy a house soon, so I've been really busy and haven't been able to catch up on all the threads going on here (WTH is going on in the Funhouse?).  I should be around more soon, when the dust begins to settle around here .

Is it just me, or do Pokemon games have a legacy of emerging during the most inopportune times of the year?  Do you think it'd make a difference sales-wise if Pokemon were to ever be released around October or November?

I think it's just Ninty realizing that Pokemon will sell no matter WHEN it's sold...

Famitsu Top 10 May 21-27 07
http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/200...72574,0,0.html

1. Kekkaishi: Tale of the Raven Forest (DS) ~40k
2. Bleach: Heat the Soul 4 (PSP) ~40k
3. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War (PSP)
4. Wii Sports (Wii)
5. Lucky Star Moé Drill: Travel (DS) ~25k
6. More English Training (DS)
7. New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
8. More Brain Training (DS)
9. Kurikin: Nano Island Story (DS) ~20k (near sellout)
10. Momotarou Dentetsu DS: Tokyo & Japan (DS)

Pachinko Ultraman - ~20k (near sellout)
Forza 2 - 10k
Hoshigami - 5k
Touch Detective 2½ - 3k
Jissen Pachislo Hisshou-hou! Sammy's Collection: Fist of the North Star Wii - 2k

DS 130k
Wii 60k
PSP 25k
PS3 - 9,984

Bad News:
Quendan 2 is not listed this week - could be due to no restock though, it did sell 90% of its shipment last week
NBA Homecourt (PS3) sold about the same a Madden did in Japan (<500 copies, ~350 maybe?)
And it seems to be relatively slow week for software too.

Good News:
PS3 has seen an increase in sales from last week, but has just missed the 10k mark.

NSMB has now been on the charts for 1 full year, some sort of congratulatory party should be in the works.

If memory serves it has now sold enough copies that conceivably 1 in every 4 DS owners could have a copy.  Which makes me sad in a way because I thought the game was a step back.

NSMB is a hardcore game. Wii Sports is the game that's a step back.
