Golden Week?
Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. Golden Week is a series of Japanese holidays to my understanding. Its kinda like Black Friday(the day after Thanksgiving) during the week of Christmas or something like that. Either way it means huge sales all over the place in Japan. SPM gets released right before it, which is why Nintendo would be holding back systems.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Ahh, golden week. From what I can remember being there, that it was a time for everybody to bugger off somewhere. Hell, even I buggered off to somewhere during that week. I am not too sure whether it actually spurs more sales outside of enterainment into electronic goods though.

The biggest impression I got from the entire week was that, for one week, Japan stood still.

This is true, it's basically Christmas for a week. No one but emergency service people go to work. No manga, no anime, few sales.

Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

Playstation more like Gundamstation, amirite?  This is the most exciting chart since Wii first came out.

I know EBA got off to a relatively slow start here in the USA, and that it didn't sell the 300k or so that Reggie wanted.

But check it out!

That's the thing with the "non-games" or whatever you wish to call them: since their audience goes beyond the traditional gamer, you don't have the game selling 1 million copies on day 1 and then quickly falling off the charts.  The audience takes a while to discover the game.
That's my opinion, not yours.

'Course, they did say there was a big spike from the one-day price reduction on Amazon, but still...#1's damn good for a non-franchise game.

Wiki for Nodame Cantabile

It seems to be a manga of some sort from the Wiki.

Of note in  in Nintendo's recent fiscal year press event, they mentioned that DS is being manufactured at a rate of 2.5 million per month, the highest ever for a Nintendo game system.

Here are some French Hardware #'s

Jan - March of '07

Nintendo DS : 260.000
Nintendo Wii : 144.000
Playstation 2 : 92.000
PSP : 90.000
Playstation 3 : 81.000
Xbox 360 : 43.000

Looks like the DS & Wii are doing really well over in France. I wonder how much different it is throughout the rest of Europe.
