TalkBack / CNN Article on the State of Nintendo
« on: April 17, 2003, 06:18:32 AM »
Super Mario Sunshine was a GREAT difficulty level! I'm an above average gamer, but not an expert by far. I found it to be delightful, difficult, but very doable. It wasn't too hard, it just lacked that magic spark of originality.

No, because they don't seem to care.  Look at the commercial for Zelda.  Was there any attempt at trying to explain the cel-shaded look?  Any attempt to try and ake it look appealing?  No, they tried to sell it on the Zelda name.  And if people associate Zelda with Nintendo and Nintendo with kiddy, they're not changing anything.  The way I see it, they took a risk with Zelda and then tried to cover it up. The Mario and Animal Crossing commercials were just plain stupid.  What are they thinking?  Now, they probably do know more about it than me, but I'm not one to complain often.  Metroid Prime sold some 250 000 copies it's first week, and then dropped off.  Why?  Because it was competing with Splinter Cell and Vice City, and it's commerical didn't show the one thing it had over those games.  It was the better game.  It's not like no one does it, I say start making commericals that show how good the games are, not the crap they're putting out now.

The Animal Crossing commercials are GREAT. And remember, they ARE selling these games, they have to advertise them...can't sell something they don't have...

NWR Feedback / The Forum "Motto"
« on: April 08, 2003, 05:16:03 AM »
I just want to add I do NOT think anyone should be allowed to talk about anything. My problem isn't so much the way PGC is run (I think it works fine) but the foolish motto.

I've met Alan Rickman. After a play he was doing in New York. And I also met Kathleen Turner and saw Alicia Silverstone, the same way.

NWR Feedback / The Forum "Motto"
« on: April 08, 2003, 04:59:56 AM »
This isn't a complaint, just an observation.

The motto of this forum is "Where Planet Gamecube Rads Go to Bitch About Everything." But it's obvious this isn't true. The moderators watch the forum like hawks. If you try to complain about many things, your thread is locked. Apparantly it's because these threads are useless and don't conduct conversation. I'm wonder: so? Last time I checked no one was dying because of a poll thread (what if there was a whole section just for polls?). If someone makes a thread complaining about something that is supposedly "pointless", why is a moderator allowed to have the final say. Just because you work for a website doesn't make you the be-all and end-all of Nintendo knowledge. Maybe I'm just asking why the motto is something that just isn't true.

Once again, not a complaint.

Not only is this more accurate(it is impossible to objectively judge a game "best ever") but less likely to result in a bunch of whiners telling you why you're wrong.

This seems to be the Planet Gamecube (forum) motto.

Metroid's really isn't hidden. We all know the elevator rides are just load times. But it does make it more interesting for sure!
