RSIII : I don't understand!
« on: April 24, 2003, 03:47:49 PM »
I have none but one big question about RSIII which is :

How does the cooperative play works?!

Let me explain.

I read somewhere that the game will let you play cooperative in all the Rogue Leader (RSII) missions. Is this saying that we will be able to play cooperatively in all the level of Rogue Leader (RSII) and have the new Rebel Strike (RSIII) missions in single player?

I don't understand.

Please, clear that up for me!

i have to admit what you wrote confuses me but this is what cooperative play means:

(has nothing to do with the first RL game on GC)

basically two people play the single player missions in RS III,
ala- split screen

.

Sorry to confuse both of you but, i heard that you can play coopertive on the first Death Star Trench run, and ALL the Rouge Leader mission's.  I think its wrong, but it would be awesome if it was true.

There's some speculation you'll be able to play all of Rogue Leader's missions in coop since Gamers.com said you could sell off your copy of RL since Rebel Strike has coop. I don't know if it's true or not.

i get what he's saying.

he wants to know if all of the game's levels will be co-op , or just the redone levels.
but unfortunatley, i have no clue.

According to EGM, the entirety of RSII will be included in RSIII, but only for splitscreen multiplayer.  therefore, if you still want to play those levels in single player, you'll need to hold on to the original.

From EGM's quote, it sounds like it's only the original.

Christberg cleared it up.  Seriously, if you haven't read the article (which is the source of all the news since EGM got it exclusive) why waste your breath trying to answer the question?  All of the levels from RS2 (even the bonus levels) are included as multiplayer levels in RS3.  They didn't specify if there would be other multiplayer levels as well, but it would be silly not to.

To add to what Christberg said I read at one site that all the RII levels will get a graphical upgrade so they match RIII.

If they are getting better graphics, it won't be much. They need to keep consistant frame rates...60 fps is important for aiming...especially in things like the Battle of Endor. EGM didn't say if they will have better graphics. Here is the scoop:

All over Rogue Leader's missions (including bonus missions) will be in Rebel Strike, but only for two players who wish to play co-op. As for if you can play co-op in the new missions, they haven't revealed that yet. They don't want to spoil the new missions do they? There are two different campaigns. The first mission in Rebel Strike is the same, then after that you can choose the Luke Skywalker campaign and the Wedge Antilles campaign. They both might offer different types of co-op options that Factor 5 doesn't want to reveal yet.

What I was referring to can be found by clicking here. Go down to the second post and read what it says in the bottom right corner of the second pic.

It says:

Quote

Factor 5 is souping up the old game's visuals to match the sequel's super look.
From my understanding all the pics that guy posted came from EGM. So EGM did in fact say that the graphics would be upgraded. Not only will they be upgraded but they will match RIII's graphics.
