Pokémon animation will be available to watch via Netflix starting March 1. Available to enjoy are two seasons along with two movies.

The series' initial season, Pokémon: Indigo League, which ran from 1997-1999, will be available to stream instantly. Alongside it will be season 14, Pokémon: Black & White, which originally aired from 2010-2011. While Black & White will be available to all Netflix territories, Indigo League will be available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland.

Pokémon the Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram and Pokémon the Movie: White—Victini and Zekrom, which both released in 2011, will also be available in all territories.

My wife watched this when she was a kid. We may go through it for fun. Hopefully all of the old movies appear as well so we can go through it all chronologically.

If I tried to watch more than 0.1 consecutive episodes of the anime, I'd want to shoot myself in the freaking head.

So... I never watched the anime.  Back when it started, we didn't get the channel it was shown on (WB Kids?).

My knowledge of the show extends to "Who's that Pokemon?  It's Pikachu! Goddamnit!"

In fact, on two different occasions, on vacation with the wife, while flipping through channels, I re-created that with whatever episode of Pokemon happened to be on at the time.

Anywhoo, thought I'd give the show a chance.  Watching the first episode, I wasn't looking at the TV and "Who's that Pokemon!" came on.  Of course, I shouted "It's Pikachu!"... and looked up... That's about the time it came back and said "It's Pikachu!"  I didn't know how to respond to that.
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

The show, at least in the U.S., was originally a syndicated cartoon. Then Kids WB picked up the rights around episode 50 or so.

I've only seen one episode who knows how long ago, but I'll never forget it. It was about squirttle and there where hundreds of them and all they did was say "squirttle". It was perfect.

Wearing Sunglasses.

Yeah, Phil's right it started out Syndicated shown at weird hours before the games were even released.  First I saw it was in Sixth Grade at 6AM on Fox.

My son has begin watching Pokemon.  He enjoys the series but I didn't realize how much it would insight my child to attack me...

Well there are some gems in there but when most if not all of those gems are episodes focused on exploring team rocket's backstory you may have a bit of a problem.

I remember this episode where this Pokemon had spent 50 years waiting for its master not knowing he had died. I can't remember it at all, though. I think it was Brock centric.
