I'm gonna start a web comic...
« on: May 22, 2004, 04:10:48 AM »
It's called STICK TOONS™ It's just video game spoofs with stick figures, I already have 3 comics done: Jedi Knight II, Goldeneye 007 and Metal Gear Solid.

Now, I don't know any software that can make web pages so if any1 can post a link to a site that lets you add your own comics then please do so. Otherwise, you could tell me the name of some software that can be used to make web pages.

Note: I use an Emac not a PC.

The best editor for HTML is VI! Don't listen to the emacs fanboys! Actually, you can use any text editor, but Vi is the best text editor.

The only thing I could recommend that you do is learn HTML. It´s pretty easy and your pages will have have clean and concise code. There are lots of good tutorials (Google it), and it´s a really good skill to have. You can make a simple webpage pretty easily.

Use GeoCities' built in web page creator for very stylish, professional looking website.
Or you could just create a Photo Bucket account and let people view your album.

Or you could stand in a bucket of conrete until it's dry and jump into the ocean... Really, these instant-homepage thingies produce a LOT of crap. Learn HTML, CSS and maybe some language for dynamic content (don't bother with Javascript or Flash, those just exist to annoy people or show ads), like PERL or Python, depending on your server (beware of servers that only take PHP, that language is a POS).

The best free editor is FreeWebs; not only do they offer an insane ammount of bandwidth, but as they claim, they have the DAMN EASIEST EDITOR IN THE FRIGGIN WORLD.  Hope that helps, Bakey...

If your comics are ok and not banal, I'll code them into html pages for you and even host it on my own server space. I'm also a Mac user. So all you have to do is keep creating comics. What say you?
