Double for Lock's Quest sales.  I played the demo.  It was pretty decent.  Certainly doesn't deserve to die like that.

Most would-be customers are hurt by current economic challenges, or they've gone 110% casual.

The otaku are still bringing in some modest sales for RPGs and the traditional PlayStation junk, cuz they're financially irresponsible and killing/niching themselves.

What is also amazing is how Miyamoto could be such a genius about Wii Fit, and yet his other project Wii Music ended up being a massive failure. What went wrong there? How could he be so right about one thing but so wrong about another?

Ya Kairon, I didn't understand that statement either.
Just to be clear here, we're defining Miyamoto being "so right" as selling 14 million units worldwide over a year, and Miyamoto being "so wrong" as selling a paltry 2 million units worldwide over 2 months?

I could be wrong about this, but isn't Metroid pretty unpopular in Japan, enough so that poor sales of a re-release aren't surprising? In any case, it is a shame, as if any game is worthy of being called awesome, it'd be Metroid Prime.

Lock's Quest... I played that demo through the Nintendo Channel, it is the first DS game I played. Unfortunately it bored me to tears.

The only reason 360 sales are high is because of Star Ocean I still don't understand why doesn't Square just put it on the PS3 all RPG attempts in the US didn't get them great sales.  FPS,FPA,TPS are pretty unpopular in Japan.

It's because Microsoft pays Square millions of dollars to release these games on it's system and keep them exclusive either for a limited time or indefinately.  Actually, this is the reason why Microsoft even gets half of the support from Japanese developers that it does.

It's the classic Microsoft solution to everything.  If you have a problem, just keep buying your way out.

Sony is almost as bad as MS with money. Nintendo is the only company that has been fiscally (and profit wise) smart. There is no chance MS could even afford to buy Nintendo now, they are the richest company in Japan worth 10s of billions of dollars. I'd think at this point it would be more likely for Sony to be purchased by MS then Nintendo.

Yes, you can. As long as what you're buying will generate money or increase in value over time. That was their reasoning in purchasing Rare, after all. And even though the XBOX line has been hemhorraging money since day one, the theory is that one day it will pay for itself... but that will be a long way off (if ever). When you invest in something there's always a risk you won't make back your investment, but even if M$ doesn't, they're the wealthiest company on Earth and are still doing fine over all thanks to their monopoly on the computer industry.
