I'm assuming if this is indeed true, that the long awaited steam support for Wii U will be extremely unlikely.

Yep. We'll probably end up with Origin. . . . .

Samus Aran - check

Whiny helpless baby who breaks down and cries and acts nothing like Samus but looks like her and is an offensive stereotype of women - check

Well Samus is pretty whiny in Fusion so I don't see your problem.

Is Fi a robot or some kind of spirit?

Kind of both, though more the former.

How is the final boss of this game related to non-Ganon Zelda villians?
He's not.

Is he related to Ganon? [/spolier]

Has anyone noticed all of the sexual innuendos with Ghirahim?

You could say that. The connection has upset quite a few die hard fans over at Zelda Dungeon

I don't see how you could miss Ghirahim's innuendo.

Just Make a European Club Nintendo account and use the stars to buy virtual Wii Points. That's what I did. If you ever gain a considerable amount of stars you can always pay a parcel forwarding company to send you the rewards. The Australian Club Nintendo is dismal compared to the European one.

Did this game come out already?

February 14. It's been out in Europe since November.

And it sold out by December. They had to order another print run to meet demand. So Americans who want this probably should think about pre ordering it now.

From a quick google search there is no official announcement from Nintendo that there will actually be paid DLC for Fire Emblem. There is only an article from Nikkei which states no sources what so ever. It's still all hearsay until Nintendo announce it in my opinion.

I would like Retro to have a crack at the RPG genre. Perhaps restarting Raven Blade.

It's not just Nintendo, it's all the video game companies. Retailers are the biggest offenders. New Super Mario Brothers Wii still retails near $100 for example. Also when MW1 came out it had a rrp of $120 at most retailers.

Nintendo recently introduced their budget titles for games like Kirby's Adventure and Boom street. We are still being screwed over but atleast the status quo is beginning to shift since if those games were released a year or two ago they would be going for $100.

@Stratos, Yeah we still can't buy the new Mortal Kombat down here.

Don't worry guys. EB Games Australia has had the WiiU at $600 since the day after E3. Prices at this point are pure speculation.

@ThePerm The PS3 at launch down here was $1000. The Wii was $400

Anyway, why are we discussing Battletoads in this thread anyway? That was a Rare title. Retro is not Rare. I don't know why everyone is mixing them up. If Battletoads ever did come back it would be an Xbox exclusive because they are the ones who now own Rare and its IPs.

No one is mixing up Rare and Retro. Kytim said imagine if Retro had access to Rare's IPs and then Insanolord said he would like a 'gritty reboot of Battletoads." but that Rare still held the IP.

188
I will probably get chewed up for this, but Retro Studios should do their own version of Perfect Dark. Not the actual Perfect Dark, of course, but a spiritual successor. I kind of thought that the Conduit series would do this, but it failed and so the opprotunity rests on Retro's shoulders to burden.

I apologize for doing this, but the success of Retro Studios makes me kind of mad that Rare was sold to Microsoft because had they stayed with Nintendo then Retro could have taken over some, or all, of their IPs and made them better. Think about what they could have done with Battletoads, Killer Insticnt and Perfect Dark to name a few.

Why? It would have been a bad move business wise if Rare stayed as a second party and started giving their franchises over to Nintendo. Nintendo would have had to buy Rare to gain their IPs.

Not necessarily. Depends if  all those people who signed up with Project Rainfall buy Xenoblade. Reggie and Nintendo of America will ultimately do what will make them money. Your kidding yourself if you think Project Rainfall caused Xenoblade in being localized for America. Nintendo have no problems with screwing their fans over.

Plus Baten Kaitos got a sequel and i'm pretty sure the first one didn't sell that well.

Xenoblade was finished June last year. I reckon that Monolith may be working on a new RPG for the Wii U unless they had a big hand in Skyward Sword

a certain action that a fraction of gamers would take that's why the game testers missed it.

*Sigh* I thought I already addressed this.

Well, I'm not again. If you don't get it then you are just like Reggie, Sakamoto, and Iwata, because apparently they don't get it either. Only a fraction of Other M players would play the game like a Metroid game? If that is what Nintendo believes then its doubtful they will make a good Metroid game ever again. Now that Retro is no longer making Metroid games, that's it. The franchise is dead.

What's with your Reggie hate? I didn't know Reggie has a say in the production of Nintendo games. Reggie is purely PR for NA and would have limited say in the running of Nintendo Japan. Your irrational hatred of Reggie is quite amusing.

Nintendo obviously attempted to take the Metroid series into a new direction in Other M and it failed. You can't complain that Nintendo are just sticking to the same formula as many people complain. If one bad game kills a franchise Sonic should be dead buried and gone.

A family friendly FPS E rated game has not been made by anyone (as far as I know)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIwPc-e2zKY

Super Noah's Ark, where Noah knocks out animals with a slingshot to take aboard the Ark, built on the Doom 1 engine

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pele5vptVgc

Be that as it may, there needs to be a family friendly FPS game for modern consoles using a modern game engine and graphics.

Some families don't find weapons 'family friendly'.

2 times isn't repeatedly. That's two times out of all the Nintendo games released for the Wii. I'm sure there were glitches and bugs in earlier Nintendo games.  The point is that both the TP and Other M glitches are only triggered by doing a certain action that a fraction of gamers would take that's why the game testers missed it.

Reggie would have minimal impact on the development of games as he's just purely PR for NA I don't know why Americans always bring up Reggie for the reason of Nintendo's decline. Other M isn't the first crap game Nintendo has released and it won't be the last. All gaming companies have released atleast one crap game in their lifetime.

Maybe they are reviving Raven Blade.

Just read an announcement from Reggie stating that Wii U will be completely different than Wii and that the players buying Wii U games will also be different meaning that they will have moved up from casual to hardcore. It's probably old news to most, but it blew me away completely especially after playing Nickelodeon Skyward Sword. People have no idea how excited I am for Wii U. I've been Nintendo since day one and well when Wii came out it was just like wtf so to see them say Wii U will be the opposite I'm so hyped.
Link or it didn't happen.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-12-01-nintendo-wii-u-appeals-to-different-type-of-gamer-than-wii-does

This is typical PR gibberish. They always say stuff like this every time. It means nothing and Skyward Sword is epic!

It's epic, but you have to admit that those flying pirate things and the Leviathan boss looks like something you'd see on Nickelodeon.

Yeah the Leviathan is right out of Spongebob /Avatar  ::)

What about all the preorders on Amazon? Will these all have to be canceled now?

While its great Nintendo is finally bringing it over, having only two places selling it guarantees this game can't become a huge sales hit. It needs to be available at Walmarts, Targets, Kmarts, and everywhere else also. That's the only way it can sell millions of copies. And a major marketing push is also necessary, but I doubt that will happen either.

I doubt that Xenoblade would ever sell millions of copies in North America even if they sold it in every store and had a massive marketing campaign.

I haven't looked recently, but aren't the used prices for most of the big Wii games barely cheaper than the still full-retail new prices?
It depends on where you look. They certainly can sell for near full retail used, but they can also be found for a lot less if you're patient. I got Super Mario Galaxy a year after it launched for $20 used, and I've found many other Nintendo-published titles at that price or less both new (sales) and used. There are only a few games I know of that sell for between $30-50 used on average, and they are titles that are out of print with low production numbers like Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

It's funny when crap games like Donkey Kong Barrel Blast can sell for $50 used/.

Don't get me wrong Star Fox is my favourite Nintendo franchise (I own and completed all the games bar the first one) and I would love to see a new original title. However the last two games (Assault and Command) weren't that great and sold poorly. If the remake sells well it is more likely that Nintendo will make another Star Fox

Star Fox lately has probably been one of Nintendo's worst selling major IPs.

Or maybe Retro are working on a new IP. Has Star Fox 3DS sold enough copies to justify a continuation of the series? Nintendogs+ Cats has probably sold more copies than Star Fox. I agree with Insanolord, Nintendo need to release a title with mainstream appeal. Hopefully that title isn't NSMBMii.
