Re: MS presser, I have an implacable hatred for Don Mattrick. He is the smarmiest guy around. Reminds me of that '80s guy from Futurama but without the awesome.

MS conference was pathetic. I can't remember the last time there was a decent showing from any of the three. Makes me wonder why I get up at 2am to watch the garbage. So glad Sony's is on at a decent hour!

The first one is good, and is often unfairly overlooked in favour to Among Theives. It's still one of the best games on the PS3, but it's not as great as Uncharted 2. Put it this way, I wouldn't recommend playing it as strongly after Uncharted 2.

I agree with this. I really enjoyed the jungle heavy environments of the first game. It should be really cheap, too.

Love your work, guys. The Japanese and Arabic style buildings look amazing. Is that all made in beta?

Brilliant. This came out in Europe but not Australia. Well done Nintendo of Australia. Apparently it was a cost of classification issue.

2 different games = 2 different online multiplayer userbases.

The ship designs and barrel rolls are very Wipeout-ish.

I think from the other thread it was said that there were 6 playable ships but 8 ships per race. How does that work, are there repeats or generic ships ala FZero on SNES?

It looks fantastic for a Wiiware game.

Why is the GTS so rubbish?

Only being able to trade for pokemon you've seen is pointlessly limiting. Yes, I could transfer Pokemon from Diamond but it would be easier if I could just trade for it without going through that rigmarole.
'Seeking' is almost useless. Out of the 8(?) options open 7 of them will be asking for Zekrom/Reshiram and the other will require an impossible trade eg a Level<9 Dragonite. Morons.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to transfer from Pokemon Box to Sapphire, Emerald to Sapphire, Sapphire to Diamond, and Diamond to White. Fun times. I'm pretty sure (from memory) that Sapphire to Diamond is limited to 6 per day. Tell me that's not the case with Diamond to White. I can already tell I'm not going to bother. /end rant

I was getting quite heavily into this just recently. I really enjoyed messing around with redstone and making (primitive) powered doors to my base. Then I got modded Morrowind running on my Mac...now Minecraft's on hiatus. Still, I look forward to getting back into it soon, the latest updates should freshen it up.

On a related note, don't buy either of those battery "solutions".  Something better is on the horizon. :D

If it's as good as you have been teasing us, I hope I can get one here in Canada.

I don't see why 3DS v2 wouldn't be released in Canada.

I hate the way Americns spell grey.

I hate the way Europeans claim to be the most polite people in the world and then go around trashing Americans whenever possible. Grow up please.

EDIT: By the way it's 'Americans'. If you're going to be annoyed by how something is spelt elsewhere you might want to learn to spell yourself.

haha
I hate LOVE it when someone takes an assumption and then goes into a rant about it but they were wrong in the first place and therefore lose the point. Yeah I just forgot to include the second a in American, how disrespectful. Must be my innate European blood kicking in.

Brilliant. Interestingly, Bleach187 uses the (predominately) British spelling of the past tense of spell.

Edit: Go discussion re: predominate vs predominant

Shaymin, if you like puzzle games you can't go past Lumines. 1 or 2.

Colour me better informed, thanks.

What's that weird word you used there?  They used it in this game too.  I thought you guys spoke English over there, not some crazy moon language.

I think we just feel sorry for the 'u', it's certainly an under appreciated vowel.

How did Americans forget how things are spelt during one short trip across the Atlantic? It is certainly strange behaviour.
English wasn't standardized back then.

No matter how many times you claim Metroid Prime is in any way a response to Halo, it doesn't make it any more true. Forget for a second the fact that they don't play anything like each other; Prime came out way too soon after Halo for it to have had any impact on its development.

IIRC I'm pretty sure there was some media/gamer driven efforts to put Halo 2 and Prime 2 in a competitive frame prior to their respective releases. Prime 2's multiplayer mode was in part responsible together with the media obsession to find a Halo-killer.

I have seen typical British "humor", and I can't believe that it is supposed to be funny (different people have different tastes I suppose). I don't  get why people find Ricky Gervais funny. I personally think everything of his I have seen has sucked, whether it is The Office (both US and UK versions) or even the episode of The Simpsons that he wrote and guest starred in (which is my least favorite episode of the series and one of the very few episodes I don't like).

This upsets me greatly. I personally loved both Office and Extras but feel the standups and the podcast with Steve and the half-human half-godape Karl are the greatest things he's done. Although Karl deserves 90% of the credit for the podcasts.

A show for anyone who loves British humour is Plus One. 5 episodes only, but very clever, incredibly awkward, cringeworthy laughs abound. Pandas in negative have never been so funny.

Mop it up, are you serious? The ONLY episode I would say is bad is the one where Bender turns into a were-car. Every other episode is good or great, easily some of the best episodes of any animated show (or live-action show for that matter). Why do you not like them?

I totally agree with this. Although I'd also flush 'That's Lobstertainment' to the sewers. So I don't totally agree with this.

Unclebob, you and your co-worker could offer a ferry service for a modest where people can play the wii as they wait to arrive at their destination.

What is a modest?

Fee, I assume. I was more concerned as to why it would be a ferry service.

Is there even a demo? I didn't see one when the game went on sale in the Aussie store.

I am crushed by Italy's exit. The glimpses of brilliance they showed were fleeting but the impact that Pirlo had was unquestionable. Going forward they would have a been a major threat notwithstanding the fact that a showdown with the Dutch loomed.

In regards to group D I feel that the worst team (Ghana) has made it through. Both Australia (after the Germany game) and Serbia showed a lot more promise.

The Germany - England game is going to be massive. USA have done very well to get top spot, Ghana will be considerably easier.

Really? Is it that much of a problem? I can't even hear TV, let alone the crowds (although my favorite bar so far is close to the stadium so I can hear loud "Ahhh"'s and boos every so often). I mean, these bars down here are crazy loud themselves. Hell for the Brazilian game, they're were mad people playing hand drums and woodblocks right next to me.

Well let's just say that you can hear the commentators, but in the background there is this one massive sound buzzing in the background... constantly... for the whole hour and a half. LOL.

But it seems you are having a great time, so the least I can say is: Enjoy!

Yep, on TV there's no rise and fall of crowd noise when there's a break on, or a corner. It's just a continual drone. You can't hear any singing or drums etc which is disappointing. Speaking to mates who went over though they absolutely love the vuvuzelas.
