So what of us that actually very much enjoyed Assult? Are we all just just ocmprised of phail at gaming? I personaly didn't find the on-foot that bad at all and, of course, loved the flight missions. Guess I'm just doomed to like such a mediocre game.

Athurn and Spak in a way - The MvC2 engine just seems so better suited to a NvS idea that it drives me nuts! Its the design and engine of MvC2 that's so over the top that it would support such a thing. Shenmue/Link/Leon vs. Samus/Jill/Orta would do damn well with SF3:TS engine, but Sonic/Joe/Mario vs. Peach/Roll/Amy(Rose) would fit better with MvC2, and the aforementioned matchup would also work in the MvC2 style (And yes, I realize I chose battle of the sexes + battle of the companies ). Just my two cents anyway. I think both engines would make a great game, it's jsut that I think MvC2 would make for the better (and more hectic) one. Ah, I can't wait till Friday so I can whip out my Dreamcast again for another 3 hours MvC2 fest ;x (Weekly event now)

Spak, it's really my love of MvC2 talking, however I also happen to love SF3:TS (And since I'm at it, Project Justice: Rival Schools, and pick a Guilty Gear). I sya MvC2 because the type of game MvC2 seems to support the sheer insanity a Nintendo vs Sega would be. Give us NvS first and then we can talk a marriage of NvSvCvSNK...which would, by the way, make me nearly die.

I still say Capcom should drag the MvC2 engine back out, ink a deal with Sega and Nintendo, and give me my damn  Nintendo vs Sega! 46 chars from the start with another 26 - 30 unlockable! (At least 10 being Capcom cameos). I would kill a man to see this game realized.

It's like I've always said after finding this out, McDs should've been responsible to pay for the damages, her legal fees, and a bit of compensation (100K or less), but that's it. The payout, over 1 million IIRC, was ridiculous because regardless of the temperature of the coffee, the fact is that it's still COFFEE! The cup was warm no? Surprise! Contents may be hot! Go figure hmm?

The DS only interface may be flawed, but it still supports many online games even if they are Nintendo made. In fact the DS is the best handheld system when it comes to online support (I don't believe PSP has much in the way of multiplayer online games) and over time I'm sure the 3rd parties will come around, it just takes time to prove it a viable thing to implement. Also I think it is kind of presumptuous to make a call on how archaic the Wii online system will work since we know little to nothing about it besides it will use friend codes.

plz bring back old style.

Ah, welcome to how I play constantly! I would have killed to be there! The things that would have happened to my skill level if I ran into someone better than myself! *shivers*

Just throwing in my random two cents.

I play at tournaments when I get a chance to go. I have some good Smash Bros player friends. I have seen a Pikahcu user win a Smash Event (Lawrence, KS Event like 57 or so, if you're curious I placed like 7th here, DAMN good people were there and I had some very rough matchups). Wavedashing is something I loathed and enver understood until I learned to use it, period. I can now do it almost on command (As a result, my Mario game has become much ebtter and the Ice Climbers are one of my best characters to play as)

The tier list is  a borderline joke. It exists, to an extent. At the event I am referring to I saw a near mastery level Falcon get it handed to him from a Pikachu user (Wow, this Pika user could chian for at least 40% damage, it was crazy). According to the tier list, they are both incredibly high level players (Both above myself, the Falcon user is my rival and I'm almost at his level..just...a...little...more!) so the Falcon should beat hte Pika yes? No. The Pika had a clear advantage halfway through the match (GREAT match to watch btw if yuo're into the competitive scene. You know those tournament videos? I get to see some of them done live, almost got to be in one but that was a different tourney with no VCR round, pity heh)

The speed of Smash Bros Melee is amazing. As a Peach user, Fox users give me the creeps (I've yet to lose to a tournament Fox player) but they can be overcome due to advance tactics (Float cancels, chain throws, etc). It's all relative. S_B, you say you can beat your firends when you radomly bring out Fox? You guys need to keep practicing because something's wrong there. Over 4 years after buying the game adn I SITLL am finding things about it I didn't know (Pikachu's Thundershock can be stuck in the tree on Pokemon Stadium for xample, found that out this year).  The level of polish on Melee astounds me.

My impatience for Brawl from the Wii launch title thread comes from having 646:18 hours of playtime logged (On one of my names I pick for my stat tracking the counter just plain doesn't run anymore heh). I have full confidence that we could give them a freaking week and they'd churn out a game better than Melee which would blow my mind. Let's have a little faith here.

The balancing in Melee is great. My brother is a Shiek user and I used to run Mewtwo as my main way back when. Constant ass kicking from him to me, I switch to Marth and discovered counter (LOL what a silly little beginner I was, but I'm drifting here) and evened the odds. Time progressed and my skill went higher and higher and his didn't increase much. Fast forward to like 2004 and I can beat him with Mewtwo all over the floor constantly. By all technicality my odds of beating him shouldn't be so high using Mewtwo, but it's that skill that tips the scale in my favor. I'm just plain better at the game and can beat him with almost any character I please. That's the ebauty and balance of Melee. If you fail to see this then you're nuts.

Pangya = My 3rd most wanted Wii title (After Smash and Zelda respectievly...yes...I want Smash more than Zelda. Look, I place T8 in tournament play, but love some casual play as well ^_^, I need to master Pit damnit!) Bill, he's dissing the Pangya...little help here. (Note: The little has nothing to do with the beyond obvious loli tilt in the game but it's fun to point out)

IF I have to wait longer than Spring 2007 for my Brawl due to the comments posted here, it just won't be pretty...I want Brawl NOW. However, there is a middlegorund. Want to make me wait that long? Playable multiplayer Brawl demo w/ Mario Galaxy purchase...or a free Brawl demo period to soothe the raging Smash Bros. beast within me. I'm near the peak of my Peach game (Just have to get my chain grabbing down better than i currently have it) and I'm ready to start my Pit training!

Agreed! I also hgihly prefer the Japanese song list (A bit of bias though, my msuic type of choice is Japanese music) But I also love DKonga 1's soundtrack...2 was a complete let down. Why is this? Donkey Konga's soudntrack was just plain good, plenty of tracks everyone could enjoy and get into. 2? Hope you have a strong like for rock because there isn't much for you here otherwise.

I'm lingering. In short, no REquiem, you aren't alone, not by a long shot.

Bue penguin = Pengo if memory serves me correctly. Old arcade title, believe it was SEGA's doing. Also, mark my words...GB/GBC downloads and an accessory the lets you take VC games on the go via DS or a new handheld specifically for portable VC (And like HELL they'd name it Virtual Boy DX ;x)

Who's down for Nintendo Power Tour revival?! That is still (Until I get to go E3 I'd wager) the best videogame related event of my life. I must have played SMB3 like...4 hours that day. I rememebr my cousin winning a poer pad 100M Dash race against someone and getting something (A T-Shirt probably, memory isn't 100% clear). I will nevr forget that day as long as I live. Even if it's just one memory of that day I will latch to it..

Ah...it was wall to wlal games. If I knew then what I know now...I would have freaking cried! POWER TOUR 07 NINTENDO! WE REMEMBER!

General Gaming / RE:How important are graphics to you?
« on: July 28, 2006, 07:17:05 PM »
Don't shoot me but I own a 360, and I understand what they mean. I have an HD set, and that was actually a factor in buying my 360. The 360 was designed to be able to output some damn nice HD images. If a 360 titles isn't doing at least 720p? My care meter is going to drop like a BRICK! (That is, of course, unless it's awesome). By contrast, when the Wii comes out. it can not do 480p and I'll still pick it up. Why? Nintendo nevre stated Wii is all about the HD. In 2007 when I get my PS3 (Yes, I'm serious. Unless the titles by then don't support my decision) I will have the same stance toward titles for it that I do with my 360.

Now, does me wanting the most out of my system designed for HD make me a graphics whore? I'll let you decide that one. Trust me I'll be here to defend myself if I hear something that fails at the sense making.

That's the thing, you don't go to N-Sider for the main page (Not often anyway). N-Side ris like my second home, no offense PGC, and considering what I'm about tosay, to any of you as well. The forums at N-Sider are simply amazing. They're strict, incredibly strict, but it's so very worth it. N-Sider as just a site is great, but N-Sider the community is what kicks it up a few notches.

General Gaming / RE:My Mac is a better PC than my PC...
« on: July 18, 2006, 07:02:42 AM »
I'm personally with KDR. I have nothing against Macs, love them really sa they were my beginning lifeblood early on, but PCs are not the insta-cripple machines and omni virii traps I'm seeing them referred to here. In my near 10 years of owning PCs I have only caught abotu 3 major virii, anything else has been incredibly trivial. Those infections were my own fault for not having my proper security active at the time. 3, in 8 - 10 years and none of them crippled me ebyond repair. I'm not trying to say PCs are insanely stablr or what have you, I'm simply saying that maybe, just maybe, all these PC horror stories you hear about/refer to are from people who shouldn't be touching PCs with a 39 1/2 foot pole.

On another note...I can't wait to playaround on my new setup

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice Core
ASUS A8N5X 939 Socket Motherboard
2GB DDR 400MHz PC3200 RAM
500GB Hard Drive Space (x2 250GB SATA drives)
ATI Radeon X1900GT 256MB PCI Express 16X video card

Carry on

Edit: Oh, and since I noticed Mac vs PC price came into the picture, the price of those components (And the Power supply and case) came to roughly 686, give or take 10. I know it didn't come up to over 700. (Thanks PRiceGrabber and NewEgg!). Granted, I already owned the hard drives so that shaved some significant cost.

*raises hand* I can join the PNO3 club too right? Right? I, too, am a big fan of this game. I think the problem here is that when oen palys it, they aren't given what they expected it to be and stops judging the game based on what it is and starts to do so based on what it isn't. A shame really, I find it fun..

Funny note, isn't it great how Capcom never ported the "worse" of the Capcom 5 (Believe in Dead Phoenix!) to PS2? Why stop the backstabbing at VJ, RE4, and K7? Go for the gusto!

On topic, sold at a loss yu say? Yeah...$199 price point with some nice extras inside or $249 for like a Wii and a hooker.

You know, I'd have comments about the goth girl too but seriously? Those comments aren't best suited for PGC...they're best saved for 4chan/5chan.... Needless to say, I literally bought Super Mario Strikers for Daisy/Peach (Imagine my pleasent surprise to find fun in there too) and Beyond Good and Evil for Jade (If BG&E2 goes exclusive to ANY platform, that is a platform I will buy...period) so Pangya Golf is something I'll have to get too. *Crosses fingers for US release to save me money*
