Xenoblade Chronicles, the ambitious RPG that nearly didn't land in America, marks its spot as the sixth best first-party Wii game. Alex, James, and Scott do their best to describe what it is that makes Xenoblade not only one of the best Wii games, but one of, if not the best, RPGs of this generation, all in under 20 minutes!

It took me about 148 hours, but I took my time, got lost a lot, and did every side quest I could find.  It's definitely one of my favorite games in the last couple years.  If Xenoblade is just number six, I'm excited to find out what's coming up!

I disagree with this game being anywhere on a "Best of the Wii" list other than Number 1, but otherwise I have no problems whatsoever with this inclusion.      Xenoblade is a fantastic game.

Honestly, if it were up to me, this would be number one. I'm still playing through, but I am just consistently blown away by this game. The Galaxy games are right there, but I think Xenoblade really moves the genre forward and will eventually be included on the list of must-play RPGs, the kind of games that define the genre.

This would be number 1 for me too, I clocked in easily over 100 hours doing absolutely everything.


I would play this game, and when I thought it was time to stop I would look at my clock and think Wow that didn't feel like 6 hours. It goes to show just how much fun I was having and I can't remember another game where I felt like that in this generation or last generation.


There were so many great things about this game I can't even list them all. All of the elements in this game where made to such an outstanding level that when it all came together it was greater than the sum of its parts.

Xenoblade would have been my #1 too if I had a vote.  I'm really curious as to what the top 5 are.  Both Mario Galaxies are in there for sure, plus Metroid Prime Trilogy (or just Corruption) - no problem with those choices. Maybe Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword to round it out?

Pretty sure that Xenoblade has been my favorite game of the current generation, but can understand why it wouldn't appeal to some people. RPGs just aren't the right genre for mass appeal, especially long ones like this. Sad admission: I still haven't finished Xenoblade, as gaming time is a rare commodity when working and taking care of a family. Yet I continue to enjoy every minute spent with the game and always look forward to the next session.

I'm secretly hoping to see an Endless Ocean entry, but the higher up this list we get the less likely that becomes. Another game that, like Xenoblade, is filled with exploration and constantly uncovering beautiful new landscapes... although with a slow pace and essentially no in-game action to speak of.
