I just wish Nintendo would also either print more of the discs from the best Wii Games or make it so that I could download them. i bought a Wii late in the life so I missed on games like Metroid Prime 3/trilogy and wario ware smooth moves. You can't just go to Walmart and buy them (I checked Amazon today prime trilogy is $199). I'd love it if they pulled it back out and put the discs back on the shelves or just put it in the wiiware shop.
just reprint xenoblade doggone it

oh and windows 8 metro down your throat(if they havent already)

tbh i imagine the 720 will bring a huge focus to kinect and even using it in conjunction with the standard controller
and i doubt we will see much of an update on the controller
maybe a better D-pad among other minor things

Have you used metro because its pretty damned intuitive on the Laptop im working on right now. Plus getting a sweet Asus touch screen ultrabook this weekend.

Only real change I want from the controller is a better D-pad. They might pull a sony and change up the center of the controller as wel.
what if you dont have a touchscreen or touchpad like a desktop

They've said many times that we can talk about it, as long as we don't say how or any links on how to do it. If Morari can have the PS3 keys in his custom title, why wouldn't I be able to talk about the fact that I bought a PSP for emulation?
ahoy matey
we pirates must stick together in the wide ocean in search of plunder ;-)

are those really the ps3 keys
dang you moderators are just messed up

I hear that Aliens: Colonial Marines has been cancelled for Wii U.

I guess we'll never know how bad that version of the game was afterall.
I saw a commercial for it yesterday on TV and it said "out now" and showed the Wii U box art.
sega doesn't have the money to update their commercials

I voted for Zombies Ate My Neighbors! I can imagine what gold James and Jon in particular could mine from it.  :D  Plus I just like the theme. Perhaps the makers of Plants Vs. Zombies played it during their childhood/teenage years.
i voted zombies just because james's possible reaction would be hystarical

Xenoblade on 3DS would be fantastic for the length and amount of things you can do in that game, especially with how pick up and play friendly it is.  But I think it the scope and magnitude of the environments would lose something in transition to the smaller screen.
but at least i could play it legally and without dealing with homebrew or paying 599 us dollars on amazon

sony has officially destroyed the only thing they still make money on at this rate
I'll save most of my thoughts on the conference for tonight's podcast recording, but suffice it to say Sony successfully managed to convince me not to buy a PS4.  No backwards compatibility for my retail OR digital games = no buy, at least at full price at launch.  I want no part in any of that constantly-online, constantly eating your online bandwidth B.S., and nothing Sony showed was anything that would get me to buy a PS4.
i shamelessly bumped the thread i destroyed in the funhouse
mention it now

Just bought a copy of the full version of the original Wolfenstein 3D (which, oddly, according to the PCGamer disc that it's on, is rated E for Everyone.  I don't think that's right.).

It won't run on my Win8 Laptop.  Sadface.  Guess I'll have to figure out how to make it work, probably using DOSBox or something.

I remember last year I had a urge to re-play RollerCoaster Tycoob. It plays on my Windows 7 laptop, but the expansion pack Corkscrew Follies doesn't for some reason (the disc is fine, it just won't play with Windows 7). I don't understand why since the base game does work.
whats  roller coaster tycoob

If you can't see that Brawl is poorly balanced I'm not sure we're playing the same game.

And yet it's still better balanced then Melee in basic play.  For basic play in Melee, the fast characters like Fox, Marth and Sheik, completely dominate everyone else.  The only way slower characters stand a chance is by taking advantage of Wave Dashing and L-Canceling which the average person knows nothing about.  Brawl on the other hand at least as a much better variety of characters that are equal on basic level play.

This is why Melee might be more balanced for the tournament players because characters have more glitches to take advantage of, but Brawl is easily the more balanced game for everyone else.

I'm not sure what kind of point you're trying to make here. You think it's a good idea to ignore feedback from the fans, especially the ones that understand the game best? That tournament guys are literally the only people that care about good design? You just want to type "1%" as much as possible?

Only the tournament players don't understand the game the best.  Tournament players play Smash Bros in a way the average Smash fan doesn't, and yet they act like the next game should be tailored to their every need.  Yes you guys have the right to your opinions of the series, but you have to realize you're in a minority of the overall massive audience Smash Bros appeals to.
tournament players understand how to abuse glitches for their own gain
and then they call brawl a glitch filled mess
hypocrites...

I like these visuals for PS4 and at the same time i'm not gasping at what I saw. It's very much what I expected. Some games today look darn near CGI to me and these games improve on that. That capcom thing I don't buy for a second though. As was stated earlier those angles and animations for attacking and such were so scripted and premade that it was in no way someone actually playing. Then they throw in the BS HUD with the weapons select and all I can do is laugh. Don't get me wrong I don't doubt a game like that will be possible eventually but that trailer looked like a big lie to me. I'll gladly eat my words when I see someone playing the game.

I thought Killzone looked great, but things like that city don't fool me for a moment. Back ground in a scripted event that is impossible to interact with. I hope big open world games come close to this.

As for the graphics in the future I really can't wait to see what's coming by the consoles end, I figure U games will look like this eventually. I don't doubt this thing can outperform Wii U in the long run but this is hardly a Wii to PS3 issue we got going here. And if the 720 takes off this time around and is weaker all that extra hardware wont mean squat for all the multiplat 3rd parties that everyone craves.

Two bold predictions:
1 - I'll be shocked if Wii U couldn't produce these visuals at some point or even something better.

2 - I'll also be surprised if Wii U gets the same crappy 3rd party support Wii did.

What do we have from Nintendo to compare to games like Killzone and Dino Thunder? Nothing really, Mario and Pikmin basically started off with Wii assets and not to mention the cartoon art style. I suppose X is the closest we have to a "realistic" looking game but it's a huge open world game where if you see something on the horizon you can go there unlike most of the games at the PS4 meeting.

The Zelda demo stands toe to toe with these things in that it just looks absolutely beautiful, but it has the disney pixar look as well so aside from the environment it's hard to compare. When realistic ground up Wii U games are made then we'll have a better idea.
if the wii u can pull that off the gamepad could become the hud
