Fun Fact: It's mid-April, and Nintendo has yet to release a first party VC game this year. The last one was Pilotwings, released the last week of 2009.

Unless you count OB64, which they published in Japan.

I don't. WHERE'S MY YOSHI'S ISLAND, DAMMIT?

How many games do they even have left? I can't think of many many, much less ones that would be worthwhile.

Does Nintendo own the rights to Killer Instinct Gold?  That sounds like one of the game licenses Rare would have taken with them.  What a shock, though...all the notable Nintendo-published titles are on the N64.  ::)

I would note that I don't see Yoshi's Island on that list.

See, I only really care about a few of those (at least only a few of the ones that have any real shot at coming out in North America), but I really, really, really want Yoshi's Island. Once that comes out I wouldn't be that upset if Nintendo just stopped releasing games altogether assuming they haven't done that already.

I think it's similar to the GameCube version. You could probably play the battles just fine, but the rest of it would be difficult to navigate in Japanese.

Nintendo doesn't seem very interested in releasing imports. The few which they've released so far have had some popularity surrounding them, so obscure titles likely have no chance. I did leave Mario and Wario on there though... oops. Though of all obscure imports, that one probably has the best chance since it stars two of Nintendo's most popular characters.

Nintendo has already released a number of obscure import games: Ninja JaJaMaru-kun , DoReMi Fantasy:   Milon's DokiDoki Adventure , Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa among others.

I'm quite bummed that we never got Custom Robo as import titles.

I don't think I got my point across. Those games are on the VC but they do not support the rumble feature. I don't think Nintendo will release games which require an additional accessory, because they require reprogramming the game itself. I know that Zelda: Majora's Mask is on VC, which uses the Expansion Pak, and Ogre Battle 64, which uses the Controller Pak/memory card, but these are a different case. The hurdle was figuring out how to emulate them, the games themselves were not reprogrammed. Something like, say, light gun games would have to be reprogrammed to function with the Wii pointer. I don't see Nintendo putting in that kind of effort.

Nintendo has already released a number of obscure import games: Ninja JaJaMaru-kun , DoReMi Fantasy:   Milon's DokiDoki Adventure , Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa among others.
None of those games were developed or published by Nintendo.

NINTENDO DOWNLOAD: STAY MOTIVATED IN MAY WITH MARVELOUS NEW GAME DOWNLOADS

May 3, 2010

What's your motivation? It all depends on which of this week's downloadable games you choose to play. In Zombie Panic in Wonderland for the WiiWare service, the goal is survival. In both Sokomania and 1001 Crystal Mazes Collection for the Nintendo DSiWare service, you're driven by a need to arrange objects in their proper places. With seven new titles added to the ever-growing library of downloadable games from Nintendo, players can be motivated and mesmerized in more ways than ever.

Also this week, the "Big Name Games" section of the WarioWare: D.I.Y. series continues to offer new downloadable microgames created by the industry's most talented designers. The latest addition comes from Todd Lewis of 5TH Cell, developer of the award-winning Scribblenauts. New "Big Name Games" will be added every Monday through July 26, all available to download for zero Nintendo DSi Points to anyone with broadband Internet access and a copy of either WarioWare: D.I.Y. for the Nintendo DS family of systems or WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase software for the WiiWare service. Visit the Nintendo Channel on your Wii system today to learn more about these games and to watch a video of ace designer Todd Lewis working on his original microgame, Fly Home!

BLOONS
Publisher: Hands-On Mobile
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 500 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: BLOONS is an exciting puzzle game based on the simple fact that popping balloons is fun. Pop your way through dozens of puzzling levels in this exciting puzzle adventure. Each level will have a different arrangement of balloons. Use darts to try and pop as many as you can. Watch for special balloons, blocks and darts, and have fun discovering what they do. BLOONS is a great game that you can pick up and play for a few minutes while you're queued up at the store, or sit on the couch for hours as you work your way through 70 included levels. As an added bonus, there's also a level editor that you can use to create your own balloon puzzles.

Sokomania
Publisher: CINEMAX
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Several crates have been placed on the playing area. Players must control a figure that can push the crates forward. The aim is to get all the crates to their designated places. Players select the episode they want to play and the level they wish to start at. Only completed levels (highlighted in green) and the first unfinished level in each episode are accessible. By repeating previously finished levels, players can try to finish them with fewer crate movements. You can push your jewel into an impossibly locked position if you don't plan ahead. As the mazes get harder and the crystals pile up, you'll need clever thinking to clear the labyrinth. With more than 1,000 jewel-filled puzzles, this fun collection will challenge your mind and push your skills to the limit.

This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

Sigh, no. Eventually it will be released though, Cave Story went through the same thing.

No VC games annoys me. They couldn't at least give us Skate or Die!, which PAL regions have had since December 2007? The game came out in North America originally, so that isn't the issue.

Todays games

Another week with no Virtual Console.  This is starting to look troubling again.  Nice to finally have all 3 Phoenix Wright games on WiiWare now, though Trials and Tribulations is probably my least favorite of the Trilogy (mainly because I find Godot annoying.  He had one good joke, and it gets told within 5 minutes of his introduction).  I'm surprised Capcom didn't finally put out the 5th case of the first Phoenix Wright this week as well.  Hopefully now that the Trilogy's out, Capcom will decide to put out Apollo Justice on the service as well.
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

I tried Photo Dojo and it seemed fun at first posing in different fighting stances and it was a lot of fun recording attack sounds, but this game has no difficulty setting and the absolutely most insulting aspect of the game is that the VS Mode can only be played on one system meaning two players have to share the DSi while playing. Just avoid this title entirely, it's terrible.
