I still remember hating you.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (it bugs the hell out of me when people think or say the name is just "Yoshi's Island" despite that not being the name of the game ANYWHERE) was one of my favorite SNES games. With Zombies Ate My Neighbors out now, this is my most wanted SNES game (and maybe VC game in general). I haven't bought a new VC game in over a year, but I would buy this right away. If I still have my Game Boy Advance SP or Nintendo DS, I would even consider buying the GBA port.

I think that people just do that because it is a long title. It's the same as how people say Mario Galaxy instead of Super Mario Galaxy, Wario Land instead of Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land, etc. I don't usually shorten names though just to try to avoid confusion.

Some people are really too lazy to type Super Mario Galaxy? Wow. SMW2:YI is one thing, but I feel sorry for anyone too lazy to type "Super". My only real problem is with the people who actually think the game's name is "Yoshi's Island" and not just using it as shorthand.

Why ever so?

Dunno, it just felt lacking compared to Super Mario World, maybe the Yoshi mechanics, linear level progression and stupid style just hurt it.

Stupid style? Are you sure you aren't thinking of Yoshi's Story? I thought the style in SMW2:Yoshi's Island was very nice.

It was too painty compared to the proper 16 bit style of SMW.

I never cared much for the style of Yoshi's Island, either, back in the day.  I would probably have a different opinion of that now, though.  Unfortunately, no amount of broadening gaming horizons can make Baby Mario tolerable.   >:(

I have had the 4.2 I believe it was since it came out. I have no problems. If you are still worried Nintendo has said that they will repair your system for free if it does brick. I am going to guess this only applies to non modded Wiis.

I just D/L'd the update recently and it worked fine. It should be safe now because they have had time to address the problem. Unless you have homebrew or other modded stuff on your Wii, then you should refer to the HB community for a resolution.

I don't think it's safe, the broken update code is inside the Wii. The homebrew community actually made their own flash code because they saw that Nintendo's is broken and can cause bricks. Despite what Nintendo claims the failure rate has nothing to do with installing homebrew, their code is just ****.

haha well the update went ok, but now I have no blocks left to get the game I wanted anyway, and I don't have the money for an sd card. I have to wait to the end of the month for the paycheck.

This bit:trip beat game (I'm sure I got the name wrong). The plug for NintendoWorldReport in the add sealed the deal ok not really. The demo was great.. But I need 300+ blocks thats insane!

I'm just surprised Nintendo finally allowed demos in the console, I wished they had the same for the more expensive DSi games. I'm I was also pleasantly surprised that since the internet channel went free they gave me a NES game in replacement, I would have never expected that from Nintendo! I got Lode Runner which is the game pretty much everyone in my family loves.

Lode Runner... I think I remember playing that when I was younger.

Bit trip Beat is an interesting concept that I might want to try out.
