It doesn't crash, the lag that plagued the Gamecube version is gone. Pretty much plays like the regular game minus rumble pak support.

Oh, so it's got all the chokey framerate issues the original had? That's very convenient and a sign of porting excellence.

Framerate seems fine, it's certainly more stable and fluid compared to the cube version.

Technical question: Do VC games output at 480i (as the games did on their original systems) or at 480p?

Vudu I think that every system but the Neo Geo outputs in 480i.Neo Geo I believe outputs in 480p.

I enjoyed Mario is Missing as well on the PC. But Nintendo didn't make it so I have a feeling it won't ever see a VC release. Did they do Mario's Time Machine?

I want Wii Chess to come to the NA VC

Wii Chess would be a WiiWare game, not Virtual Console.

Mario's Time Machine was developed and published by the same company that did Mario Is Missing (Software Toolworks, Inc.).

The Popstar game is supposedly pretty good as well.

I played the SNES version of ClayFighters and thought it wasn't that bad. It wouldn't be my first choice for fighting game on the Virtual Console, but it's not the worst one either.

i'm going to pass on this. i'm the kind of the person who did enjoy the VC game so this is something I would be interested in. oh well.

The biggest issue I heard from reviews was its easy difficulty. Not only did it not have a very good learning curb, but as you collected the golden fruit you got stronger and stronger so the last parts of the game were ridiculously easy.
