SameGame is a D/L for me and I especially like it because it looks like a good value for its price and its file size. I like having a smaller puzzle game on my Wii at all times for some quick action and this is about half the size of Maboshi.

I may get Bomberman down the line because I'd like some single player Bomberman to complement the WiiWare multiplayer-centric game.

I just have a random question that I'm sure has been asked many times already.

Do you ever think Nintendo is gonna bring Arcade Originals to the VC?
I'm sure lots of arcade games pre '95 weren't more than 64mb in size.

I think it would be interesting to see things like Dragons Lair & Gauntlet be released for it.

It would be nice but I have a feeling that XBLA would have a better chance of doing that.
Though, wasn't the Neo Geo technically an arcade machine though? My friend has one and he changes out the boards with different games he plays.

Sorta. The game cartridges for Neo Geo were literally the same ones used in arcade machines. That is why they looks exactly the same as the arcade version and also cost $200 each.

So then can the Neo-Geo be considered an arcade platform on the VC? Because then it could possibly lead to other arcade makers like Sega or Namco to release their arcade games on the service.

Well, the NG is a specific platform and it has a specific input device unlike arcade cabinets where everything can have a different input.

So you wouldn't call it a brand of arcade consoles? Or is that a poor way of looking at them? I always figured that each company had their on arcade standard like how Nintendo has Wii and Microsoft has XBox. Like wasn't another arcade type called the Triforce and it was co-developed by Namco Sega and Nintendo using Gamecube tech? I get the feeling I've completely misunderstood this matter.

Lots of different arcade games are based off of different architectures. Sometimes there are arcade boards that are based off of the current consoles, but that's usually to help make porting it to the console that much easier down the line.

NeoGeo had their console that was basically the same as as their arcade board, and that was so they could bring their arcade games home.

Lots of arcade games were made using beefed up game boards that were based on PS2 so games could be down ported easily.
Sega made F-Zero AX on an arcade board (tri-force) that was based on the GC so that they could bring the game home - F-Zero GX.

There are so many different arcade boards out there, that each game that was going to be an Original would need a ROM dump on an emulator made for that specific game. That shouldn't be too much of a problem since each VC game comes with its own emulator attached.- which is why there is no NES channel or SNES channel or Genesis Channel

Wii and DSi Channel has been down for about 5 hours just checked and it's still down. Maybe they are coinciding something with Iwata's keynote today.

If it comes back up with New Super Mario Bros 2 on WiiWare, I will forgive them all their transgressions in 2008.

Kind of funny how everyone was just talking about the possibility of Arcade games hitting the Virtual Console earlier today and now Nintendo has just released a new Arcade section on the Virtual Console right NOW.

This should make things more interesting.

You ask and you shall recieve....?

Well more like plead and beg for most of the last two years.... but whatever it takes... right guys?

Guess we better start throwing temper tantrums about the next thing we want for Wii so that we can have it some time in 2011...
Whats next? HD upscaling? Light gun games to VC? Larger VC/WiiWare game sizes? Netflix on Wii?

maybe I should start a poll.

I want a Virtual Console DOS/PC section so that we can get old LucasArts, Apogee and Epic games. SCUMM engine FTW. Plus Crystal Caves and Commander Keen were great as well.

Also, we are already getting Netflix via disk sometime soon. That's probably the best well get considering the Wii's space issues.

A lot of arcade games I can recall are 3D and probably larger than the 40 meg limit. Now that there is a storage solution I wonder if the will get to see this limit raised since people have access to 32gb cards now.
