Well guys I just beat the core Space Invaders game in a whooping 34 minutes, it's quite fun but as you just noticed extremely short without the DLC packages, I'll start the DLC levels tomorrow. The subtle references to 1950's alien invasion and classic space invaders games are awesome. The game is pick up and play friendly and I like how the time and health meter are the same thing so if you get hit you lose time (you regain time by destroying buildings and enemies). The attacks are hilariously awesome my 2 favorites are the drill formation and the wrecking ball formation. Besides DLC the other WiFi functionality is leaderboards and this type of game is perfect for it.

If you are in a pinch the C button fires the super weapon which is essentially a huge mother ship towers over everything, you regain invaders up to the 100 invader limit and it fires a huge laser from the mother ship like in the movie Independence Day it's very awesome but your only limited to 1 - 3 super weapons depending on the level.

I only have 2 real complaints about the game. 1. To generate new invaders from you ship you can't move the UFO and shake the wii remote and nunchuk like a mad man 2. Even though switching through attack formations is fine with the B button I wish you could also do it with the dpad.

For the people that are wondering you can move the game to the SD card, you can move the DLC file to the SD card but it's DRMed so you can only copy it back to the Wii that purchased the content and the 1 block save file can't be copied to the SD card.

BTW, any ship except the regular will result in your scores not counting for the highscore table (even though the classic UFO doesn't even give any bonuses).

The shaking to refill invaders sounds easy at first but if you move it doesn't work and refilling a larger number of invaders can waste a lot of precious time or even result in hits. It's pretty much a no-no when you're score hunting. I try to go for pickups, stonehenges or bombs (which can be used liberally as keeping them to the end of the level won't give extra points) when I need fast refills but when you're really score hunting you can't really afford to get into a situation where you need to refill many invaders anyway.

How is the VC version of Super Mario RPG? I have some extra points and am thinking about it.

I found it to be very good.  I missed it on SNES so I can't compare it to that version, but it should be pretty spot on.  The classic controller works very well.  The game isn't as "epic" as some Square RPGS of the time, but it's highly enjoyable and you can see a lot of the groundwork for the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi games.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I am in the same boat with Vudu. I didn't get a chance with the SNES but it is a great game. One of my favorite things about the game is the  music.
It is a great game and very enjoyable.

In other news the SMS version of Sonic 2 has been rated by the ESRB.

Enduro Racer for Sega Master System is an interesting game.

I can't remember the quality of the game, but I remember playing it as a kid over and over trying to get the game.  I could get to like stage 6 (I think) on the game.

It is mostly memorization of the race track, so there are some cheap deaths...but this was definitely Sega's Excite Bike.

Anyone else hoping for Christmas Miracle for Virtual Console / Wiiware Tomorrow ?

Christmas is NEXT WEEK.

So I really hope Nintendo tomorrow to give out some big games for WiiWare and Virtual Console.

Christmas 2006 I bought Super Castlevania on SNES and Mario 1, so that was an excellent VC week. I don't remember last year being all that good I think it was DKC 3 or something, but I never cared for that franchise.

My guess is Earthbound (SNES) comes out tomorrow.

My Christmas Miracle : WiiWare updated Goldeneye 007 with online support and voice chat and cleaned up graphics. Dual Analog controls or Wii motion controls.

Animales de la Muerta would be amazing too to be released.

COme on Nintendo, Please its Christmas time give us something to be happy about.

AHAHAHAHAHA I'm sorry but that is just too funny Nintendo won't allow a release because the deal was Wii would get a VC release of Goldeeye and 360 would get a online enabled game.

That's why its a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE.

Anyway today Virtual Console isn't bad. I heard great things of Phantasy Star IV

That Tiki Towers game is a monkey game looks like a direct rip off from World of Goo.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VV195YX-JU

That golf game looks like fun, but controls are the key if this game is worth while or not.

I don't know something with Fun 2x in the Title is a bad sign. I'm just cynical that way.

Wow. Tiki towers looks a ton like World of Goo. Some key differences, but... maybe I'll have to get both?

So Will Nintendo have a Christmas Surprise Virtual Console Release or Wii Ware release?

What would you love to see on Christmas day for Wii Ware or Virtual Console?

1)Wii Ware:  I would love a 4 Player TANK! with online play...or Mario vs. Luigi online with 3 Player support (DK, Wario, Yoshi, Peach, Bowser) could all be added.

2)Virtual Console:  Something truly surprising or awesome:  Super Mario Kart or Turtles in Time.  Both would be nice.

That would be cool if they do, but no precedent of that has ever happened.
