Some impressions of Gyrostar. Overall very good game but some little things are annoying.
The controls. Works great, however if you want to use wiimote and nunchuck or classic controller it doesn't automatically detect the control and adjust on screen button layout. So that is confusing.
The game does use tilt of wiimote or nunchuck if you choose. That is a bit over sensitive for my likes but you can get used to it. Ironically I think using mario kart wheel might help for wiimote, but I think nunchuck tilt is a bit smoother.
You can play 4 players but are required to play with wiimotes of some kind so no cube controllers which makes no sense since you don't need tilt controls.
The game starts smooth and gets faster as you go. You got to collect energy balls to make sure you can travel in the portal at the end of the level. If you don't collect the energy balls you will die at the end. Enemies scattered around and if they destroy you it stops your collecting of energy balls. The levels are about a few minutes each and can become really fast and hectic near the end.
You can't float off the left/right of halfpipe which is great and feels more like F-zero shooter than an actual shoot em up.
Graphics: Very nice and clean art style and music fits the game well.
Overall a very good game. 8/10
