Rhoq:  Perhaps something is wrong...because I have saved from the Wii to SD card and on my N64 games It has taken over 4 minutes.  And to copy it back it was about the same.

I don't mind the effort it takes to copy games to the SD card...but once they are on the card, I am usually not going to go back and reinstall it into the Wii to play.  It is outta sight, outta mind situation...being able to play it from the SD card would eliminate that problem.  I don't know why they don't just create an SD card channel to play games off the card.

Sin and Punishment took a couple minutes, everything else was like a minute or less for me. I wonder if there are major differences in transfer speeds, would explain why it's never bothered me and some people think it is outrageous.

I wonder if the SD card reader in the Wii may be built by different manufacturers, resulting in varying read speeds? Maybe, it's the card itself?

I have a launch Wii - Spak-Spank, if you bought your after launch, it could be that the card reader in newer consoles is slower, or it could be the SD card itself. I am using a 2GB SanDisk, not sure if that makes a difference, though.

Rhoq its usually the SD itself since there are faster SD cards and it does benefit on the Wii if you use a faster card.

This is a great week for VC and WiiWare for me because there is nothing that interests me. I've bought way too many downloadable Wii games recently and I have less than 20 blocks available on my Wii, so it's nice to have a break. It does suck for someone who actually wants something good, though.

I do say my good fellow, I take exception to your comparison of this particular release bundle to fecal matter. Take, as an example, my nostalgic favorite Samurai Shodown. This is an exemplary title deserving better than such low association. My response to this is simply that you would remain silent in your disparaging of such a fine and worthy virtual console release. Thank you kindly for your consideration and I wish you the best in all future public correspondence.

Samurai Shodown is a classic.  Though I wouldn't recommend anyone buy it on the VC because a Samurai Shodown Anthology is going to be released for the Wii.  Might as well get that.

Still in a vacuum this is a good week for the VC.  Samurai Shodown was one of my favourite games when I was a pre-teen.

Well said.  In retrospect, I took my frustrations out on Samuri Showdown quite unfairly.  After waiting three weeks for a decent WiiWare title like Gyrostar or Strongbad, I was sorely disappointed to find a couple games about fishing and busting blocks with your balls. 

That said, I threw the SNK fighter in with the rest of the turds to keep my frustration succinct and to the point.  Should I ever have the chance to play it, I'll be sure to give it a fair shake.

I do agree with D_Average on this, they are screwing us over by withholding Gyrostar.
