Wiiware is here!!! The games that I posted earlier are the ones on Wiiware. No suprises

I am not GP, but I will tell you what I hope happens.

I hope Nintendo starts the WiiWare service strong with new entries being added once a week for about a month.

Then I would hope that the developers can get more say when releasing their games. And if there are not any WiiWare games ready then do a strong virtual console update on monday...like back to 2-3 games on a single week. Then if a Wii Ware game is released the virtual console updates is held back a week so that the Wii Ware titles don't have to compete with VC.

No it wasn't sarcasm, I hope Nintendo doesn't yank around developers like they do with VC. I think the developers should get much more say about when a game gets released on Wii Ware. If there are only 1 or 2 developers who wish to have their games released a day, I'd be fine with it. Now I could understand a limit on the amount of games released at a time, 3 or 4 sounds fair if a few titles are finished for Wii Ware.

I do NOT think VC should have ANYTHING to do with WiiWare releases. They are two different things and should be independent of each other.

After seeing the file sizes of the Wii Ware launch games I feel even stronger about the need for a hard drive. FFCC: My Life as a King is another game that goes on my "I would definitely buy this if I had the blocks" list.

I have some bad news guys gals the Friday leaks that I tell ya about well Nintendo found out about them and well the guy that sends out the PR every Friday can't anymore because he could get fired.

Geez, I feel horrible for the guy. I really hope that he does okay because I'd hate to have voracious appetite for knowledge complicit in his losing his job. Do you think nintendo found him through that WiiWare leak? Surely they've been trying to find him for awhile now.

That sucks. As much as I like learning about the releases ahead of time, it's not worth someone losing their job over. He should save that for something really big like the announcement of a new Kid Icarus game.

This mornings VC and WW games are Sky kid for the Nes for 500 points and for Wiiware Critter roundup for 1,000 points and Star Soldier R for 800 points.

I think most/many Wii owners (I'm included in this) don't worry too much about splitting up WiiWare and Virtual Console into separate categories. It's more of a lumped-together "Downloadable Games" Monday, whether they're retro or new. Honestly, people can only buy so many games a week (even cheap ones), so it makes sense to me to leave them on the same day, releasing 3-4 games total from a VC/WW combination pool. (shrug)

I seem to like taking the unpopular stance lately, though. Don't know what's up with that.

Its nice that Nintendo is giving the independent games such high status for Wii Ware launch...it really helps position what Wii Ware is about. But, I am seriously waiting for Doctor Mario, Bomberman, and World of Goo...I need those titles ASAP.

I think it will take some time for developers to find the sweet spot for WiiWare pricing. Naturally at first they are going to try to get the most they can for their efforts.

Some games should be $5, Defend Your Castle was perfect at that price point and Pop really should have been at that price point.
