Nintendo Gaming / Link's Awakening version differences and can I get an opinion?

A group of friends and I are discussing doing a Link's Awakening sort of retrospective-style group playthrough, but we are not settled on which version, or if we would get a similar experience if we played different versions. I've only ever played DX, and the others have not played any of them.

How different are they, really? And would we be too out of sync if some of us played the GB/GBC and others played the Switch version? Is the Switch version just like a fresh coat of paint?

I love the retroactive feature of the podcast and I think it would be great if there was a little page devoted to it, maybe with just a list of past retroactives, what's coming next, and maybe a TalkBack section for votes and discussion of upcoming options. Really, though, a list of links would be great if nothing else.

I'm thinking Fire Emblem, Alliance Alive, Stella Glow, Nostalgia, Mario and Luigi, 999, The World Ends With You, I don't really know. Can you all give me some ideas based on your experiences? Virtual Console and eShop digital only titles are included. Basically whatever I can play on my N3DSXL. Thanks.

When you buy a Wii game on the eShop, it downloads to the Wii U memory. But does it also save there, or does it save to the Wii Mode memory like a disc-based Wii game would? I'm asking because I want to be able to move my save games to the SD card so I can continue a Skyward Sword game on a Wii after starting it on my Wii U with the eShop version.

Nintendo Gaming / Anyone else buying the new Smash controller for actual GameCube games?

So, the most exciting news lately for me is the announcement of new 1st party GameCube controllers! I have been using my one GC controller for both my GC and N64 (with Raphnet adapter) backlogs, and I've been getting worried about what I will do when the controller wears out, or if I need more for multiplayer games. New GameCube controllers are like $100 on eBay! So yeah, this announcement is the best ever, and they are only going to be $30! Now if they would only make more N64 controllers...
