I hate to be Devil's advocate but here's another viewpoint
Sure its a good business move. But isn't it basically just Nintendo sticking to the 'Kiddy' Stigma that competitors try to stuff them in? Sure, we've got Otakus here stateside (Myself included), but like hardcore gamers, we don't make up the vast majority of the market. Nintendo will grab the children's market alright, but what about us?
I'm sure we'll go gaga if/when they release a Gundam title on the 'Cube, but who's going to show out for it? Otaku and the kids. I don't know about you, but I still get wierd looks when I'm in the manga section which is filled with kids under 16. (Chances are, no 'adults' who are into Manga/anime in my area.)
I'll say again, good business move? Defintately. You got one of the biggest toymakers/anime on your side, which can almost gurantee success. Will they solidfy their stake with children and otaku, which amounts to $$$? Most likely.
Will the casual gamer care (Ages 17-24, or the 'I want teh cool system with the most overated game'), which here in US make up the vast majority? Nope.
So there you go, another angle.
