Maybe if you factor in when WCW was around and they both did between 3 and 5 in the ratings, then all wrestling combined maybe did double what WWE does now. TNA sucks. I wanted it to be good, and it was good for a while, but it sucks now...even with Sting...because Sting sucks. They should make a WWE game for the DS, that could have potential. Supposedly TNA is making a console game, but their roster changes every 2 weeks, so it's gonna be tough.

the ratings didnt hit as high as i thought, but they've hit over 6 many times(a quick google search shows they hit over 8 a few times). what do you mean about the roster changes? TNA(total non-stop action) has a fairly good and stable roster...they just dont have enough time on tv to show them all.

as for a wwe game for the ds, i'm actually suprised there isnt one yet.

"Co-Op mode similarly leaves out interaction with characters (they're still invisible in a room)"

thats taken from igns latest preview of the game    http://ds.ign.com/articles/685/685505p2.html

the game actually seems like it turned out pretty well. not being able to see the other players in multiplayer is a litle dissapointing, but from the sounds of it, it still works alright.

at higher prices no less. its kind of funny walking into the game section of a store and looking at the psp's "games". theres more movies on the shelves then games, and most are higher priced then their dvd counterparts. most psp movies are upwards of $30(canadian) in my area.

i can think of at least 10 gba titles that i would like to buy, but i refuse to buy them at the current prices. a players choice lineup is long overdue.

has nintendo actually released any information for their online plans and/or service? besides saying that there will actually be one of course.

those sales numbers are pretty supriing to me......i thought that sales for the ds might go down a bit with the ds lite being announced. i'm way too lazy to check if the ds lite was announced before the date those figures are for though.

the ratings for WWE are under half of what they were in 1997-98. i actually despise WWE at the moment. Crappy storylines and bad wrestling are destroying the product. they need to give their wrestlers more freedom on the mike and in the ring. TNA(on spike tv) is putting out a far superior product at the moment(at least in my opinion). The storylines are a little lacking, but thats due to the fact that they only have an hour of television time a week. supposedly they might me moving to thursdays and getting some more time which should help them out.

General Gaming / RE:Blizzard discrimination in WoW
« on: February 01, 2006, 06:55:01 AM »
personally, i'm more offended by the fact that they do allow pro-christian guilds to exist, then the fact that they dont allow pro-gay guilds to exist. everyone has the right to their own beliefs or way of life, but i dont want to be hit over the head with either of them when i'm playing games. i play games for enjoyment, not for social commentary. i like planetgamecubes policy where they just dont allow the topics that will, inevitably,  create arguments.

blizzard has put themselves in a bad position by essentially "picking sides".

of course....i dont play WOW, like most here it seems. a question to anyone who might know. does blizzard allow other pro-religious guilds to take place, or is it just christian?

odama is easily one of most eagarly anticipated gc titles for 2006. of course with the number of games that are going to be released for the gc in 2006......that probabaly doesnt say very much. it will be a reason to play my gamecube again though, which i probably havent done for 6-7 months....the ds has been keeping me busy.

Whoa whoa... hold on there.

We don't even know where Nintendo is going with the Gameboy line yet. Is the DS the "next gameboy", or was Nintendo sincere about the whole "Third Pillar" thing.

If there's still a Nextgen Gameboy forthcoming, it probably wouldn't be until late '07 at the earliest, and I wouldn't expect to see the GBA entirely off the market until that happens.

It might make some sense for Nintendo, especially with the recent rumors floating around of an Xbox-branded handheld media device/game system. Coming up with a single screen GB4, then a few years into its lifespan whipping out a DS2 with GB4 backwards compatibility.

Cross-posting is becoming a habit.....

The next GameBoy?

thats an awesome design...i dont think i've seen it before. i'd buy one.

i'm not really sure if i like this new design or not....i think i have to see one in person. maybe its becouse i have no problems with the current design of the ds.

personaly i believe(or maybe i'm just hoping) that the next incarnation of the gameboy will play gamecube games. at least it would be nintendos best option in my opinion. it seems with the backward compatibility of revolution, that it would just be a logical choice(at least to me, i know lots of people dislike the disc format for a portable). i'm not sure how they could tranfer the controls to a portable, but it could be done.

"Between October 31 and January 15, the site reports that Sony's widescreen handheld sold 972 thousand units during that period. By comparison, the DS sold 2.33 million units during the same period. "

Thats an excert from a article at gamespot.   http://www.gamespot.com/news/6142782.html

they also state that ds's are being raised in price in japan, becouse of lack of stock. i've never heard of a system that is as old as the ds being in such short supply, and subject to double the retail price becouse of it. thats actually why i wasnt sure if mario was being sarcastic or not. personally, i do find it kind of ridiculous that nintendo cant get enough of a year and a half old system on the shelves. good news that it is selling so well though.

ign has an article up saying that a completely original sonic game is in the works for revolution. sega hasnt actually confirmed it yet, but good news none the less.

http://revolution.ign.com/articles/682/682320p1.html

off the top of my head though, i cant think of how a sonic game would work with the rev controller.

its an interview with peter moore that i found kind of funny. i dont think he was really prepared for some of the questions that they asked him. they talk about revolution and miyamoto a little too.

well it did sort of seem like sarcasm, i saw nothing in the above posts to warrant it. sarcasm is tough to decipher sometimes, especially in a forum.

I think it's quite obvious where the momentum is now, and it's not with DS. Japan was the only place DS was destroying PSP by a massive margin, now its lead is disappearing by the minute and soon it'll be pretty much gone. Way to screw up your one chance Nintendo.

looking at monster hunters sales, it looks like one of the best selling psp games out there. to say nintendo is blowing their "one" chance, is a little premature. theres 7 ds titles in the top 10 compared to one for the psp. its complete ds domination.

so i just read over at computerandvideogames.com that ms has only sold 600,000 360's since launch. that number seems low, but i remember reading that they only shipped about 300,000 at launch so it might be right. i havent seen these numbers posted anywhere else though. at that rate, the lead they have will be fairly minimal by the time ps3 and rev come out.

the game looks decent in screenshots, but the lack of hands on previews for the game isnt giving me much hope for it.

i really wanted to buy trauma center(and still do), but unfortunately not a single store i went to had a copy(or ever did...i asked). whats the point of making a game if noone can buy the thing?

General Gaming / RE:First attempt to rip off the revolution remote
« on: January 07, 2006, 07:04:36 AM »
i dont really understand the point myself. games coming out for the revolution will be made from the ground up for the controller while it seems like players will have to alter existing control schemes to use this one on the ps2. i dont see any exclusive games coming out to cater to the controller.

and as already mentioned, it is far and away one of the ugliest controllers i have ever seen. i actually saw a reporter on cnn talking with the makers of this thing, and i wasnt impressed at all. the same company makes some sort of 3d glesses that will supposedly make existing ps2 games into 3d. they were ugly as well, and even the reporters were making fun of how stupid they looked wearing the things.

for all this talk about demand for the 360, i could go pick one up off the shelves right now. my local wal-mart has some sitting on the shelves, and has since after christmas. of course, they are only the core systems which nobody wants(and rightfully so).

i personally have never had a problem getting a nintendo console on day one. i always just get there early on launch day.

Personaly i think that the commercials are horrible. They are kind of funny, i just dont think they do anything to actually sell the games at all.
