I have never been less interested in a console.

I'm more excited for this than the One.

*cough* Achievements *cough*

Guess what platform I'm buying ACIV for. I'm buying it for PS3 due to achievements. If Wii U had achievements then I'd buy it there.

62
I'll probably wait for the retail version to drop in price.

Oly?... Oly?... You there, Olimar???!!!

Wow, 100 stores in the US and Canada. That's about 1 store per state! Wow, Nintendo, what dedication! Ever heard of the eShop?

This is MUCH better than taking down the videos alltogether, but we're altering content as Let's Players. We add commentary, and we present a changed product. Furthermore, I hate the 30 second ads before videos. This only turns off viewers.

TalkBack / Re: No EA Games Currently in Development for Wii U
« on: May 17, 2013, 12:05:12 AM »
I blame Nintendo. If a third party doesn't want to produce games for a Nintendo system, then I can only blame Nintendo. Obviously either Nintendo wasn't making the process easy enough, or it wasn't being reasonable enough. People like to blame EA right away, but I'd look straight at Nintendo. If Nintendo waived a fee for EA, up to a million copies sold, or whatever will allow EA to break even, then I feel like EA wouldn't take this route.

67
I still believe that $7.99 is WAY too expensive, especially when emulating these games is so easy. How about $1.50 for NES and $3 for SNES games? That's much more reasonable. I'm fine with N64 and Gamecube games being more expensive. But, let's me honest, these games are short, and 25-35 years old.

Abysmal sales for the Wii U and Vita.
I'm looking forward for the next year when we will see the performance of other next-gen systems. In a schadenfreude way.
I'm sure the other systems won't fair much better when they are released. At that point Wii U will be the cheapest console on the market.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Who's excited for Animal Crossing: New Leaf
« on: May 15, 2013, 11:05:10 PM »
Honest answer? Not me. I've only ever played one Animal Crossing game (I played City Folk on Wii about 4 months ago) and found it to be incredibly monotonous. The idea of collecting thousands of in-game trinkets and speaking with characters who spout reams of inane dialogue holds no appeal to me whatsoever. I'm not trying to be harsh here, but I really don't understand the appeal of those games. Without wanting to offend any grown up fans of Animal Crossing, based on what I played of City Folk (around 20 hours) the games do seem to be squarely aimed at children; which is fine, because most Nintendo properties are, but in the case of Animal Crossing I didn't find anything that appealed to me at the ripe old age of 25.

Were you playing for long periods of time at once? AC is meant to be played 20-ish minutes each day. It's much more fun that way.

It's my favorite Wii U game by FAR! I'm almost done with it.

Donkey Kong Country Returns Again!

I'd be willing to bet a VERY pretty penny that the game will be multi-platform.

Nothing surprising. Abysmal sales for the Wii U and Vita. Great sales for 3DS.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Frostbite 3 ported to mobile platforms
« on: May 15, 2013, 10:59:04 PM »
Nintendo doesn't need EA, honestly. I'll buy a PS4 and play EA games on there. They've never supported Nintendo before, so why would we expect them to now? As long as Ubisoft continues support for the Wii U I'll be happy, although I'm pretty sure Zombi2 will be multiplatform.

This is just like Activision hating on Nintendo; we don't need them.

75
First of all, you CANNOT discount the Wii U yet. Just look at the 3DS. It started off even worse than the Wii U, and look at its turn around.

Next, I want to point out that Nintendo has 11 billion dollars sitting in the bank. Nintendo can continue producing failed consoles for the next 50 years and still have money. They have too much pride to EVER exit the console business. Plus, as long as the 3DS stays this profitable, Nintendo won't lose money and will stay profitable each year.

The last point I'd like to make is that the Wii U doesn't have to sell a lot of units in order to be profitable. Just look at the GameCube, a console which only sold 20 millions units. That's abysmal, by any standards. But, the console still was profitable for Nintendo because the hardcore gamers continued to buy games.
