I just got done reading an article about the Juicero.
What they basically wanted to do is replicate the success of something like the Keurig with a pricey piece of equipment and single serve containers you can only buy from the manufacturer at a high cost. The only issue with that is
1) Coffee/mixes have a much longer shelf life than fruit or fruit pulp
2) Coffee has the inherent problem of effort into making coffee for 1 in a pot vs the being able to pop a cup into a keurig, hit the button, and go, whereas freshly squeezed organic juice isn't as hot a commodity as everyone's favorite caffeine vehicle.
Granted, maybe the investors of the company know this is a niche product for well-to-do people who don't value their money. Or maybe the investors will be the ones juiced in the end.
