You can obtain Victini, a Psychic/Fire type who is not available during normal gameplay.

Victini, an exclusive Pokémon, will be available courtesy of the Liberty Pass, which will be available for download in Pokémon Black and White from its launch on March 6 until April 10.

To find Victini, players must use the Liberty Pass to access Liberty Garden Island, which is located in the southwest region of Unova. They must fend off Team Plasma in order to have the chance to capture Victini, who is a Fire and Psychic-type legendary Pokémon.

Dubbed the Victory Pokémon, the creature has the Victory Star ability, which boosts the accuracy of all of a player's Pokémon in battle.

Pokémon Black and White is set for a March 6 release in North America.

Hmm, Nintendo following EA's "limited edition" lead in having goodies for those who purchase the first batch of copies or buy the game at launch.

This sucks for my brother.  His birthday is April 18 and this seems like a natural gift.  He waits a little over a month and can't get this Pokemon?  That fucking sucks.  He is one week off!

Now he is an adult so he could just buy for himself.  But what about all these kids who may have to wait until their own birthday or Christmas to get this?  Not every parent just buys stuff for their kids at the drop of a hat.  I think at the very least they could have given this until the end of the year.  The target demo of this game is primarily children who don't have the flexibility to buy this right away.

But then I guess they figure after the first month those horrible USED sales (that are completely legal) might come into play.  OH NO!

Of course people can always trade for this anyway and you just know someone will find some Pokemon duplicating exploit and will be willing to trade away their numerous Victini for Ratattas anyway.

And I never cared for the whole legendary Pokemon setup anyway.  Getting Mew legitimately in North America was more or less impossible.  I don't see what the problem is with just having a cool hard-to-get secret in the game itself.

It's supposed to be a reward for those who buy it early, not a punishment for those who don't. I think most kids will get it early since the Pokemon games always sell millions in their first month.

If your brother can get a PAL copy, European gamers will have until April 22 to get the Liberty Pass (which sucks since they also get the games 2 days early).
