We talk about a pink blob, NX, collecting and more.

Hiiiiii and welcome to Connectivity 185!

This week, Nick, Neal and Addison band together to chat about the pink blob himself, Kirby. To kick things off however they chat a little bit on what they have been up to. Discussion points include, Legend of Kay Anniversary, Etrian Odyssey and some Dragonball Z: Resurrection F.

For the main topic, the trio start out discussing Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards for the Nintendo 64, touching on that games director and history before moving onto chat about some of their other Kirby experiences and thoughts.

After the Kirby talk, the guys jump into some listener mail. The topics include thoughts on whether the NX will feature backwards compatibility with the GamePad, more on the passing of Mr Iwata and what the future may hold for the CEO position, before finishing up with what our collecting habits are like.

Don't forget that the NWR Connectivity Live show will be happening next week. The show will be hosted on Google Hangouts and will be kicking off on August 28 at 9PM Eastern. Check out the article for more information here.

Be sure to send us your listener mail by clicking here.

Thanks for listening.

More negativity. Gay jokes… Saying they shouldn’t even bother releasing a game on wii u because its not worth it - on a Nintendo podcast…  the first bit of this show was hard for me to listen to… That said, the Kirby segment- I have to say I enjoy the Kirby's adventure series (Adventure, super star, etc). Recently, I have never played Kirby's Dreamland 2 when it came out on the gameboy. I am working my way through it now on the 3ds and that is much more challenging than I thought it would be.
I don’t understand why its confusing for people on controllers. Someone mentioned having their  precious clean ps4 next to their 'convoluted mess' of wii items.  I suggest you put the controllers and such in a drawer or organizer. I put my controllers for my living room consoles in a basket. If I need a numbchuck, I grab it use It and put it away after the game.Honestly though, I lost interest after the continued complaining about Nintendo in a Nintendo podcast. Maybe I will listen again next time but if it just continues, perhaps I will find another cast that is more positive.

Hey - sorry if you didn't enjoy the show. I can assure we all love Nintendo and our criticisms come from a place of affection. I know we all talked lovingly about Kirby, but I guess the listener mail went to some dark places. Send some happy listener mail in and maybe you can affect change in future episodes.

Ironically, I don't want to sound completely negative myself and i must say, I really enjoyed the segment on Kirby. I will take you up on your offer to send in some user mail. I don't expect it to be rainbows and kittens all the time but It just seemed to be more negative and down on the big N overall.

Oh it definitely is a mess.

Minimal Wii U setup involves just console itself and gamepad. But gamepad needs to be connected to it's own AC cable pretty much constantly. That's one additional wire and limitation.

If you want to play some digital games you need to plug external HDD, that's hard drive itself and two cables taking two USB slots for you.

If you want to play Wii games, you need wiimotes, maybe nunchucks, and sensor bar set up so it doesn't fall of the ridge of TV and then it still does after a while.

If you want to play one of the three online games on Wii U you need LAN adapter connected to one of the two remaining USB ports.

If you want to play Smash with Gamecube controllers then you need to connect Gamecube adapter to two USB slots, but wait you only have one left. So now you need to workaround like using HDD that is powered from it's own AC cable freeing up on USB slot.
