Xenoblade and The Last Story Coming Stateside?
« on: July 07, 2011, 08:16:06 PM »

Operation Rainfall has claimed a partial victory.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rumor/27146

The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles may be heading to North America after all, despite Nintendo of America's continued insistence that the company has no plans to localize those titles.

On the official Operation Rainfall blog, a post has gone up claiming that the American localization of Xenoblade has been finished for over a month, and the process is well underway for The Last Story. No word was given on the potential localization for Pandora's Tower, but even with the first two titles, this is a major win for those hoping for more RPGs to play on their Wii later this year.

Although Operation Rainfall was unwilling to disclose their source, who allegedly resides within Nintendo, they maintain confidence that the information is true based on that source's identity.

Well, I certainly hope their sources are true.  While I still have issues as to how Nintendo of America has handled this situation (especially if they were planning on bringing these over all along), just having the games brought to the U.S. would be enough to satisfy me for the moment.  Not getting Pandora's Tower would be unfortunate, but if there was a game of the 3 I had to lose that would be the one.

I would change the title if I were you, this is hardly confirmation of anything. A fan group claiming to have some mysterious source is not all that reliable. I hope it's true, but it's not confirmed.

That's why it says "RUMOR" over to the right hand side, for what it's worth.

Aahh, sorry. I was checking the article from the forums (where the Rumor part isn't showing up), not from the front page.

Yeah...hardly a confirmation, but the most encouraging news that we've heard regarding the matter.  At any rate, hopefully it will encourage people to keep sending those letters.  I'd very much like to see Xenoblade and The Last Story released here.

I'm not getting my hopes up until Nintendo announces something, which they've already said they have nothing to announce.

The way this game has gone viral is a great reason to keep people guessing about the release. The more tension they build, the greater chance of a JRPG actually selling well over here.
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

Hoping it comes true. With all the fuss, I will put my money where my mouth is and order the games day one. Well, at least one of them. Xenoblade looks like the sprawling and colorful adventure I'm looking for. Though, I'm getting a good Valkyria Chronicles vibe from The Last Story. As for Pandora's Tower, I have the least interest in that one, but I still hope it comes along later.

Starfox 2 (allegedly), Mother, Disaster... yeah, I'm not going to believe it until I'm putting a Club Nintendo code in.

Although Nintendo hasn't done a Q3 release list yet, have they?

If this is true I think Nintendo may just be getting desperate to put something new on the Wii for US consumers as there has been talk of a drought of games for the system. Between that and Nintendo probably hearing about the pleading fans who want these games to come out in the US, they may have just thought they might as well to appease fans and say that they're listening when really releasing these games stateside would sort of be killing two birds with one stone (two birds with two stones? Or maybe three, depending on whether or not the other will come out in the states...whatever you know what I mean).

I rather lose Lost Story.  I was looking forward to Pandora's Tower when its weirdness started to show.

The Last Story looks pretty bland to me,but I would still like it here. Pandora's Tower looks more interesting to me and I want to see it released here.

Hmm...that brings up an not-so-likely, but still possible scenario--  what if treehouse is doing localization, BUT NOA isn't doing publishing or distribution, or at least, not doing it alone?  It could be that they're still working out an agreement with someone else, and that's why they have to put out this "no plans" bs.

Nintendo saying they have no plans doesn't mean they're not doing it. They'll say that if you ask them about something 10 minutes before they're going to announce it. Or if not that, "Nintendo does not comment on rumors or speculation."

Well this is pretty good news if true.
At the moment as long as some of these come out to the states then I am happy with it. I'm pretty interested in all of the games so I don't have a specifiic combonation of ones I want here other then all of them.
