Is the movie just a rip-off of Cars?
(i think it is)

Um, it's a spin-off made by the same company (well, same distributor since Pixar isn't making it). and set in the same universe. It would be like saying Frasier was a rip-off of Cheers. It's not a rip-off.

Converter boxes should work on any TV, at least here they do. Even on new HDTVs

Putting up EarthBound required very little effort: adding Miiverse support, Off-Screen TV support, and save-states. Very little time and effort really. Bringing over Mother 3 would require full localization, including lots of translation. All for a GBA game. Maybe if they called it EarthBound 2 (which is likely, there were 3 Pokemon Stadium games and only the 2nd and 3rd were released outside of Japan. So the 3rd one was called Pokemon Stadium 2), that might help a tiny bit, but even then I am not sure this means anything about M3 coming over.

BTW, this MC Chris guy is a douche. Last year at a show he had a fan kicked out for posting a TWEET criticizing the opening act for the show.

Say you raise $70,000 on Kickstarter (meeting your goal). The site gets a $3,500 fee (5%) for handling it and in the US Amazon gets another 3-5% for processing the payments. You are then left with $63,000. You spend that money to put together a pitch for a show and present it to a network, but the network decides they don't want the show. Why should Kickstarter essentially lose $66,500 (paying money that you and Amazon collected) just because YOUR project failed? You still raised the money, and it's not Kickstarter's fault that you couldn't produce a project anyone wanted to air.

I think it's BS that Kickstarter let Penny Arcade break Kickstarter's own rules against "Fund My Life" projects (Penny Arcade taking money to get rid of ads on their site) just because they wanted the 5% fee they would get, but it's downright insans for you to be upset because they MC Chris guy couldn't create a show that Adult Swim wanted to pick up with the money.

red, stop bitching. All Kickstarter gets is a 5% fee, which they only collect if you reach your goal. If anything, the people who donated should be pissed because this guy took their money and failed to deliver. You are getting pissed at Kickstarter because this guy used the site to raise money and then failed to deliver his product? And guess what, dozens of shows get turned down every year. Even shows from famous people get failed to get picked up. Last year a pilot with Martin Lawrence was not picked up.

It's baffling how you can possibly be mad at KICKSTARTER for this. The site let him raise money to pitch a show, that doesn't mean a network is required to pick the show up. MC Chris is the one who got the money, so why don't you be pissed at him for not paying back people who contributed to it? So you want Kickstarter to give their 5% fee back, even though MC Chris got his $70,000+ and doesn't have to pay back a dime of it? I am not sure if you are trolling or just don't know how Kickstarter actually works. Kickstarter does not guarantee a project will be delivered, that falls on the shoulders of the person raising the money. If you don't think they will deliver, don't donate.

You brought up your personal experience, so I made a off hand comment that was the same.

It would be like you saying it's hot most of the time because you sweat so much and me saying I rarely sweat (not the best analogy).

Wii drive repair gets 11 million. Your logic is flawed.

I've had 2 Xbox 360s and neither failed.

Really? Trying to use a Google result as evidence? "Wii repair" gets 20 million results, does that mean Wii had four times the failure rate as Xbox 360? Under your logic it does.

I just explained how and why the RRoD happens, now please tell me how if 100% of the consoles manufactured for 3 years had the same design, that only 17% would fail.

A crib manufacturer recalled more than 1 million cribs after THREE failed. That is a .000003% failure rate. Microsoft did it to avoid a lawsuit since a lawsuit would be more expensive. Potential for failure doesn't mean failure rate will be high.

LOL, you really think more than 1 out of every 5 Xbox 360's manufactured prior to October 2008? That is ludicrous.

As for the DS, maybe it was more than 1 in 5000, but still very low.

1 in 5000 is VERY low, especially as typical failure rates in electronics are 1 in 50 (or higher).

The Triforce hunt was a little boring, but I wouldn't call it a serious flaw. And the sailing was so minor that you have to be nitpicking to have a problem with it. Seriously, it takes all of 5 seconds to change the direction and you don't have to do it that often.

Wind Waker was a great game with some minor flaws

Fixed that for you.

Like I said people with the problem will be more vocal than those without. And based on how many DS and DS Lites they sold, 0.02% actually seems about right. Look at Xbox 360, where the RRoD was one of the biggest failure rates in games ever and it was 17%.

Read past the headline, its Engadget with headline baiting. Nintendo didn't "fess" up to anything. Nintendo is well known for fixing a lot of things for free. And 0.02% failure rate is so low that it can not be considered widespread. Nintendo likes to have good will with fans, and it's easy to get them to fix hardware for free or cheap because it will make fans stay happy and buy more games.

So, no, that is not Nintendo saying there was a hardware defect. It's Engadget putting words in their mouth in order to bait people into clicking the link. Even read the article, where Nintendo would replace any DS with even just 1 dead pixel (something no other company that makes electronic products would do).

Nice try. But I read the article and not just the headline, so I know Engadget was baiting people in.

I would like to get it on wii u, but it will be cheaper on ps3 for ps+.  So Nintendo loses another sale to PS+ from me

So you would prefer playing on a terrible controller just to save $2?

Development hell? Announced before launch? Um, no on both. Yes they went back and put some tech demos into the game, but the actual game was not announced until 2008. It would be like saying Pikmin and Super Mario Galaxy were announced in 2000 because the Super Mario 128 tech demo turned into them.

few games currently support it atm

??

38 retail and eShop games support the Pro Controller. 65 games have been released in North America so far. That means 58% of ALL games released (retail or digital) support the Pro Controller. How is that "few games"?

That doesn't bother me. I don't go around acting like a douche like oohboy does. The rest of us were having a civil conversation, and he of course jumps in just to insult and attack me. I thought he had learned from his warnings.

And I think, from what I am reading online, that the 1K number is specifically StreetPasses for people with the game. I can not verify if it counts multiple times with the same person separately (i.e. 5 streetpasses with the same person counts 5 times or if they mean 1K different people). MAYBE if you have friends you see everyday with the game, it might be possible eventually. Still, I would hope they would lower it. There is another badge that you get from pulling 5,000 weeds. If you take good care of your town, this could take years since I usually only have 1 or 2 weeds appear per day in mine.

I never found the 30 day limit a problem as long as you focus on work and don't just waste time. What annoyed me is beating the final boss and not having enough time to get that final piece back in time, so I had to waste a day just to bring 1 piece back.
