Nintendo Gaming / P.S.O Question
« on: March 27, 2003, 03:17:01 AM »
unless your really, REALLY into killing random monsters hoping they drop a certain item and chatting with other players for 9$ a month, I wouldn't get it.

2
1. YES! Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, all those old school fps
2. NO! Not at all. Seriously, I help snakes/turtles across roads, and I think twice before I hit spiders. I'm as non-violent as they come.
3. Unless the kid cannot tell between reality and fantasy, I think violent games are fine. I personally wouldn't let my kid play GTA3 until he could explain to me about right/wrong and that he knew it was just a game. (But i'm not having kids... hey thats another topic)

Nintendo Gaming / Strange....*SPOILER*
« on: March 23, 2003, 06:11:30 AM »
Now heres a question, at the end of OOT, Zelda sends Link back, right? And the timeline Link is in now has no Gannondorf, so where is the triforce of power? Is the triforce in the Sacred Realm, or is it non-existant?

General Chat / Can anyone answer my question!
« on: March 18, 2003, 01:26:37 PM »
I think i have the solution right here:
www.linux.org

I am 100% sure that if they wanted to, the US gov could get on your computer right now. I KNOW they have backdoors, heck windows 98 had a secret- not hidden but SECRET where you had to hack to get to it- file that had EVERY webpage you've ever been to in your entire life. Hows that strike you? I wouldn't put anything on an Xp machine I didn't want the world to see.

As for your counterstrike problem, go to folder properties, and make it say show all hidden files. Then go under the search tool and type in *.exe. He could have named it to something else so typing "counterstrike" might not find it. Now scan down the list until you see something that COULD be CS, then run it. Trail and error, you'll find it.

OR you could just tell him: "Damn it I want to play CS, where did you put the file?" That seems easier.

Quote

Well, if he moved the file over into his Documents in his account, then unless you have his login password, or have administrator rights, you cannot get the file.

Hehe! not so! During bootup, hit F8 and go into safe mode! You can circomvent all user accounts and go into anyones documents folder. Muaha!

General Gaming / Two Developer questions

Exactly, im asking about the developer status, If they can work on both Xbox and PS2, why couldnt they work on the Gamecube?

I'll tell you why. Because M$ and $ony are pretty malicious with their bling bling. They go over there and say, "you know, it would be a shame if this was released on GC. Because then you couldn't put it on our system, which is, as you can see, is better than theirs." Unfortunatly, Nintendo is a little too nice and needs to do this as well.

Nintendo Gaming / ps3/xbox to get crush by GC2?
« on: March 17, 2003, 04:22:40 PM »
My brother told me some WEIRD story about how Sony was hyping the ps3 to be a giant beowulf cluster, and while you're not playing it helps other people process their game. And it has 4 processors and can burn CDs. I dont know where he got this but that is the most retarded idea i've heard in a long time. Quad processors *pfft*

General Gaming / Which is better for TS2?
« on: March 17, 2003, 04:18:22 PM »
For ME i'd have to say GC, because the Ps2 controller F's up my hands!!!
Seriously, the grip is too small for me. The way the analog sticks are positioned I have to angle my thumbs down. I'm not knocking the ps2 to be a moron, this is the truth. I went over to a friend's, who has a ps2, house and my hands hurt for days afterwards. Also, I'm left handed and that seems to be an advantage for GC users, considering the controll stick is on the left side.

Jirachi:

I had written a VERY long (1 whole page) rant against your posts. But, after reading it, it seems that its been written before by everyone and you just dont get it. So I'm not going to post it and i'll keep this short.

I dont know where I heard this, but its very, very true:

Arguring on the internet is like competing in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

So i'm not going to argue with you.

« on: March 17, 2003, 02:56:48 AM »
HAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaahhhah I actually shot water out of my nose when I read this:
"....Microsoft....innovations..."

OMG anyone who knows ANYTHING about M$ knows that is the most non-innovative company around. It stole ideas from Adobe, Apple, and even Linux! Windows is just a lame hodgepodge of other peoples ideas. Microsoft innovating? Yeah and I'm George Clooney.

Nintendo Gaming / Whaaaaaaaat?
« on: March 16, 2003, 01:46:36 PM »
I would have rathered no blood than green blood for Ganondorf.  About the Goron chants, were they ISLAMIC or did they just SOUND islamic. If they just sounded islamic then thats kinda dumb to take them out.

Nintendo Gaming / Whaaaaaaaat?
« on: March 16, 2003, 08:02:17 AM »
All I can say is, thats not right..... not right at all. How come the "Under the Well" level has blood smeared on the floor, as well as the Shadow Temple? Unless that red stuff is ketchup.

Hey wait what? Fire temple music? What did it have satanic messages in it or something? I haven't heard it in a looong time, it seems its just ambient background music.

Spoilers inside... whatever

I was just finishing up MQ, so anyway, at the last fight with Ganondorf, you kill him and stuff and he's sitting there choking and suddenly, a big wad of GREEN blood pukes up. Um... what moron at Nintendo found it necesarry to change is blood from red to green? (The original OoT had red blood) THEN when you fight Ganon, the blood that squirts from him is GREEN TOO. Oh so its ok to see blood splattered on the ground in the Shadow Temple, but if you slice a person in the face they give off pussy green blood. Stupid.  Why change it?

Nintendo Gaming / M. Night should help make a videogame (For GAMECUBE)
« on: February 28, 2003, 06:48:48 AM »
*** SPOILERS IN THIS POST *** incase you havn't seen this movie. I dont suggest you do so.

Just because a movie has a good "message" doesn't mean it should have a sucky plot like Signs did. There is NO excuse to say "well its a good movie but you have to ignore the implausible plot". Movies revolve around plot and to have stupid things in them is just dumb. Signs makes no sense for the following reasons:

1. I find it hard to believe that on 1 city across the ENTIRE planet, its not raining. Yeah, right.
2. You could thwart these aliens by burning your crops. Didn't anyone think of that?
3. The protagonist NEVER told anyone but one small town cop. If you chopped off ALIEN HANDS I think i'd be over at SETI or the FBI.
4. The end of the story stole from Night of the Living Dead, where the characters board themselves in a house. Just thought that was weird.
5. They can travel across galaxies and cloak themselves but they cant make a simple crowbar to dislodge a few tacked on boards or a pantry door. Uh huh.
6. Sorry, there just cant be a lifeform that would die from water. VERY few elements react with water, except for a few acids and potassium/sodium. Life cant be made from that. While it is possible, the moisture in the air WOULD KILL THEM IF THIS WAS THE CASE.
7. No guns. I would have been bustin caps in those aliens. Do you honestly think that the armies of the world combined with their nuclear bombs, m-16s, grenades, flamethrows, and water pistols (heh) couldn't defeat scrawny aliens who wore NO body armor and could only kill you by squirty a few puffs of gas in your face? YOU COULD JUST HOLD YOUR BREATH if you didn't want to breathe it in! COME ON!

I cannot bring myself to think that everything is meant to be like the movie suggests. If everything is set in stone, why do people pray? Will God make an exception for them? The movie was completly a let down for me, I thought it was going to be a mystery about who was making the crop circles than a cheesy "message" movie with a sucky plot. Bah

Nintendo Gaming / A guaranteed success formula for Nintendo
« on: February 21, 2003, 04:08:54 PM »
Sorry to burst your bubble, but yes, every game TECHNICALLY is an RPG. Thats not the general classifaction, however. The general classification is TDBRPG, which is Turn/Dice Based Role Playing Game, like Dungeons and Dragons. When most people think RPG, they think D&D, Baldurs Gate, FF, and whatnot. But for a definition, every game is an RPG. I dont agree with this classification, but it is true.

And i'm NOT being a Gamecube fanboi or a ps2 hater, but I can find good games for GC and Xbox, but I just dont see the Ps2 ones. GTA VC looks like it would be fun for 5 minutes. I'm not some hippie but I dont think blasting the guts out of streep people is very fun. It might be a stress relief or just a guilty pleasure, but its just not gameplay that I am looking for. I look at the ps2 games on the shelves, and there just isn't a title that pops out. Sorry. If there is some sleeper hit, please tell me so I'll stop ranting all over the place.

Nintendo Gaming / The Cube and Online Games
« on: February 20, 2003, 01:35:36 PM »
Nintendo wouldn't have spend thousands, if not millions, putting modem ports on Gamecubes unless they had future plans. They wouldn't be making modem/broadband adapters JUST for 1 little Sega game. PSO wasn't even announced when the GC First came out (or was it). Bottom line, Nintendo WILL make something online sooner or later.

Do you think this is a prelude to an upcoming pokemon game or is it just a referance to Pikachu in SSBM?

Plants have sensation too. Venus fly traps KNOW when there is a fly in them. Heh heh... Animals can rationalize to, how do you think parrots speak or chimps solve simple math problems? (they can)
