I like it alot what they did with the interface from Platinum. Very nice indeed.

Halbred I think I figured how we are going to do this. First you need to get 12 pokemon in your HeartGold. They can be 12 pidgys or whatever. Once you do that I am going to go into the Platinum Union room while you go in your HeartGold union room.It is in the pokemon center.
Once we done that you will trade 6 of those pokemon you caught to my platinum.You should have one of my teams. After that you will do the same with my second team. Then you trade over your team to my SS while I trade over those 12 pokemon to your Pearl and platinum. After that we should have each others teams on Heart Gold and Soul Silver. We finally use the union room in HG and SS to trade our teams over to our games.

Sounds good. I borrowed my friend's DS Lite for another purpose, but I'm going to see how the trading works between HG and Pearl/Platinum with Pokemons that don't really matter. I can do trading stuff tonight but not tomorrow, but probably the rest of the week, in the evenings.

So it turns out you can't get your Pal Pad until after you beat Falconer at the first gym. Note that the fight is difficult because there're no Electric types before this fight. However, wander through Violet City and south, and you'll find a small patch of grass east of Alph Ruins where you can find Level 6 Mareeps. Power one up to Level 10 and you can blow through the gym.

If you can't/don't want to level up Mareep, there are Geodudes in a route you can get to north of Route 29 (it'll be marked Route 46) or in the cave east of Violet City, and you can trade a Bellsprout for an Onix in Violet City. Both learn Rock Throw which can 1 or 2-shot Falkner.

Good, now I finally traded an Egg containing squirtle, the little poison frog, and turtwig. Love doing this at the beginning of the games. Been doing it since RB with the 3 starters.

Love the game. And the pokewalker is addictive. I never imagined the simple little device to be so cool.

EDIT:

Well, I just discovered that if you have no pokemon in the walker and you just have it with you while walking, random pokemon will follow you. I know have an oddish because of this. Cool.

How do we keep on getting these remakes over and over? Don't get me wrong, I am eating it up all over again, but I hope nintendo delivers with there talk of new experiences in pokemon.

I hung out with a bunch of super duper ultra nerdy people yesterday, and everyone was going nuts over HG & SS. Many of them were super over weight or just a bit out of shape. I figure if they follow my pokemon program they will burn those extra pounds in no time! If you have access to an exercise bike, sit and play Pokemon on it for at least 20 min once a day, 3-4 times a week. Your mind is consumed by the game, and you get a decent work out.

I bought this game on Amazon yesterday because I was buying some other stuff and wanted to get over the limit for free shipping, but then ended up signing up for a free Amazon Prime trial, so I would have gotten free shipping regardless of how much I bought. Oh well, I'm going to need something to play on the planes next week.

Betcha we get Pokemon: ShiningCrystal or something in the next few months, actually. Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Diamond aren't remakes--they're director's cuts.

Remakes don't get a director's cut, and most of the Crystal content got worked into the remakes already so there'd be no point to it.

I s'pose you're right, they're more like a special edition of the game rather than a remake, even if they have a couple of new small features.
FireRed and LeafGreen didn't get a special edition game so I doubt these will.

I think you guys are refering to Platinum as far as the 3rd verson of the 4th Gen games. Diamond and Pearl was the two that were first released.

Anyway how far is everybody in their respective games?

I'm in Goldenrod. I was about to fight Whitney, but I remember that none of my Pokemon are Fighting-types (damn that Miltank!) or, really, leveled-up enough to deal with its attacks. I think I'm gonna try "trading" between my two DS' just to nab my Lv. 30 Hitmonchan from Pearl.

I'm not sure the name field would allow that many characters. I've seen a lot of games cut me off a couple letters short. Good idea, though.
