Is altering your Wii's internal clock the only way to trick the game that it's still daytime or can you do it within the game?

This was the only thing stopping me from getting the game. My schedule is such I can only game in the evenings and even then that can be after 8 or 9pm. So I figure I'll miss out on events in game, stores will be closed, etc unless I can correct this time issue.

There is an option on the main menu to change the game time.

Plus there is a version of Nooks that stays open until 2am. The Able Sisters are open till 11pm daily. The only thing I struggled with during my night-shift jobs was catching day-time bugs and fish and some of the morning events like buying turnips.

You can change the clock within the game, but then the game will "know" that you are cheating. If you change the Wii clock, the game will not realize you are cheating unless you happen to set the clock backwards past the last time you played the game. So if you were to play, say, December 20th at 3PM, as long as you don't set the clock back before that time then you would be fine.

There are only a couple of consequences for time traveling, if the game knows you did it that is. Turnip prices will plummet to 40-50 bells, red turnips will rot, and Redd's Shop will be closed for the entire week.

Also, I don't know if this matters to you, but any time spent playing the game when the Wii is not set to the correct time and date will not be recorded in the records of the Nintendo Channel.

As always, the later the better for me. How is 9PM Eastern for you folks?

Well, tis the season, and I'm thinking about getting back into this game. Thing is that my town is at this point an insurmountable mess. I'm thinking about reseting the town and starting from scratch. The only thing that has prevented me from doing this on a whim is that I have some designs that I put a lot of work into that I would hate to see go. Also I still have some friend codes on this account.

So what should I do? Start a new town or suck it up and face the music in the town that I'm in? Either way I'd like to get back into playing, and it would be cool if I could play with some of you guys.

Armak88: I'd recommend just keeping your current town. It is much easier to clean it up than it would be to start from scratch.

By the way, did anyone ask EasyCure if he's available tomorrow? I forgot to do it...

I'll have to be on later. I am having dinner with some friends and that can run late. I should be home around 9pm Pacific time.

Is it okay if I visit your town since my store will be closed?
