This episode starts off with chatter upon Animal Crossing and Retro Game Challenge, plus a bunch of games on other systems, including a bit of Soul Calibur 4 vs. Street Fighter 4 action.  Then we complete a round of RetroActive, with coverage of the final Boos and final boss in Luigi's Mansion.  We're taking a break from RetroActive next week, then it's on to Eternal Darkness!  Be sure to drop your suggestions for upcoming games in the forums, and look out for the next poll to be launched soon.

After the break, it's time for Listener Mail.  Zelda's save system, rumors on NWR, and a 60-second game design challenge are all up to bat.  The show ends with a survey of recent news developments, from Commodore 64 on Virtual Console to details of the new Dead Space game for Wii.

Aww shucks! I got mentioned in the RetroActive. Now I feel special  :)

About Luigi's Mansion, I thought that I could loosely control Luigi's movement. Maybe it only felt that way but I seemed to be able to direct my path while sucking ghosts to avoid obstacles such as bananas and poison 'shrooms.

On the matter of DSi Ware killer apps. Would a new World of Goo game be noteworthy for you? I think a DS version would be pretty sweet. Though ever with that I would need at the very least six must-have titles on DSiW before I would even consider getting one. I am quite happy with my Lite and I heavily use the GBA slot for old games (not carpel tunnel hero though).

Loved the episode. Thanks for your guys' work on it.

Maybe delete and re-subscribe would work? Or you could just D/L it individually on MP3.

Please tell us which feed you subscribe to (MP3 or AAC -- it will be the latter if you subscribed through the iTunes store).  That will help us to check for errors in the feed, if you are still having trouble that is.

They announced a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game, too...

Speaking of that, James' profile does have his currently playing listed as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

Depends on your capacity for patience and skill at very nit-picky timing-based gameplay.  I rated ME a 7 on GameFly.  It's definitely worth playing... worth owning, well that just depends.  There's some very cool new DLC for people who are into the time trials, which are a good part of the game (if you can deal with the controls and frequent deaths).

I thought World of Goo was over-rated. It's a decent game, but far from the best WiiWare game of 2008. I got it as a gift and thus am not upset, but I probably would have been had I spent $15 on it. I thought Defend Your Castle was more fun and worth more money than WOG.

Right now i'm still forcing myself through Strong Bad episode 1... I bought it to see what the interest was all about and i'm still meh. There's just no puzzle element to it like Zack & Wiki to hook me in. After i'm done i'll go grab World of Goo and Onslaught.

I'll think i'll rent Mirror's Edge instead. Once i get around to buying a 3 that is ;)

Some Multiplatform "ports" come across well on the Wii without having to change genres: Shaun White, Skate, COD:World at War, plus Overlord looks like it will be good.

Depends on what all the game is trying to do. Didn't they really change Skate it for Wii? World at War was a good port but lacked many of the online features. Overlord never had complex visuals or other features that were "next generation", though even there they had to cut the troop number in half.

Other than Balance Board support, I think Skate It is a pretty close port of the original game.  Never interested me, though.  I'm trying to rent Shaun White soon, as it was fun at E3 and sounds like a good product.

Wasn't Skate It the one that takes place in an abandoned city for the Wii version?

Yeah, but it makes sense in the Skate Universe continuity: A monster has attacked the city from Skate 1 and it was evacuated. You fight mecha-Godzilla as the end boss in Skate-It. 360 front flip for massive damage! People repopulated the city in Skate 2.

To add to my Wii-Next Gen separate but equal list: COD3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Sonic Unleashed*, Star Wars:TFU, Harry Potter* both Tomb Raiders* Transformers* and Geometry Wars.

All made with multiplatform in mind (including PS2). Geometry Wars is far from a high tech game.

Blargh! What's your point? That technically complex games can't be ported down? Well, World of Warcraft wouldn't be too hot ported down from PC onto the 360 either. But Orange Box ported down just fine.

Depends how big of a drop it is. From 360 to Wii is much bigger then PC to 360 (Not to mention the Half-Life 2 engine is quite old).
