I watched Guardians of the Galaxy with my daughter last night.
Visibly her most favored movie so far... but that's probably mostly because she remembers seeing this one before and is a fan of Rocket and Groot. I was explaining who the characters were as they appeared, and when the boy was in the hospital came up, I said "that's Peter Quill, you know who that is....?"
"No, who is that?"
I said " That's Starlord"
"who..? :/"
"Starlord...." (in hindsight this was a missed opportunity to say "the legendary outlaw...") thankfully he was all grown up in space moments later, and even had his mask so I could point out who he was.
She didn't recognize Gamora or Nebula on sight either, but she shouted out "It's Thanos!!!" as soon as his chair turned around.
Simply seeing her excitement and enthusiasm for these movies and characters gives me joy in life
(she still ask when we're going to go see Black Panther every few days - 1 week from tomorrow)
Her favorite scenes as usual were all the actiony parts, and the sad part where Groot sacrificed himself to save the team from the crash. She liked the part on Xander that ultimately landed them in another good scene in Jail all the way through the escape. Then as she recalls, the fight towards the end when they are on Kree ship and fighting everyone, Groot getting kill happy, and then saving the team. Also she got all worried when Starlord grabbed the stone because she remembered how the pink lady blew up when she grabbed it.
But even after all that, she still insist that she likes Ironman more, but that The Avengers was now her favorite overall. So that ranks her favorites as The Avengers > Ironman > GotG > Thor
Tonight we watch Age of Ultron, and I'm squeezing in Ant-Man and Civil War next week before we go watch Black Panther. That will only leave us with a few more movies to watch and somehow rewatch before Infinity War in May, and she will be 100% caught up with the MCU
