I think so far it looks good.

and I can't really explain why I am so HYPED for a movie based on a comic that I have not only never read, but never even heard of until it was announced by Marvel that they were going to be making a movie about it.

I'm hoping we get a leaked trailer in the next 6 hours, as no one wants to wait till somewhere during the JKL show to see it.

Full trailer will surely have more Rocket Raccoon and I'm sure they were saving that specifically for the full trailer, him being the heart of the film and all.

Also, seeing how Marvel is doing the big media and merchandising push with GotG, have they done this with the other movies too? or are they trying extra hard to make this the "New Star Wars" before Disney can officially make a "New" Star Wars?

A friend of mine at work was a huge fan of the GotG so he's been waiting for this for a couple of years now. He's always tried to confer to me just how awesome they are, and I just don't see it. THAT"S A GOOD THING. This maybe the first time since BATMAN '89 that I go to a comic book movie without forehand knowledge of the story and lore. Gonna be fun for me to be on the outside like the other movie goers. After I get a trailer, I'm sure the hype will kick in a fair amount.

Congrats of getting nodded.

Man Marvel eats DC lunch in film, and I'm someone who like Man of Steel and think Arrow is in the top five comic book adaptions period.

Looks like Marvel has enough Avenue that they could possbliy have four movie lines.

The Avengers Line
Featuring all out favorite avengers based movies.

Cosmic Line
Staring with Guardians but could expand to Nova and hopefully fantastic four if Fox loses the lisence. All inhumans too.

Street Level
The Neflix heroes

Supernatural
Do the Marvel Knights as short straight to DVD/Netflix films with Blade, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, Brother Voodoo.

You know thinking about the Trailer.  There are to many Human's.  They probably aren't Human par se but I thought Star Lord was suppose to be the odd one.

Thing is most of the big Alien races in the Marvel U Asgardians, Skrulls, kree, etc are all pretty humanoid in terms of look.


Star Lord is half Human Half Spartoi and is supposed to be the only human traveling outerspace despite that **** obviously getting rectonned as soon as Nova comes around.

He's not supposed to be odd as much as is no one knows who he is and treats him like crap for being from a backwater planet.

With Ant-Man in preproduction mode with casting well underway and the marketing rollout for Guardian of the Galaxy off to a rip-roaring start, Marvel Studios is tackling its next challenge: conjuring up the filmmaker for Doctor Strange.

Four contenders in particular have either met or are about to meet with Marvel higher-ups to bring the adventures of Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme to the screen: Mark Andrews, who co-wrote and co-directed Pixar's Brave; Nikolaj Arcel, who wrote and directed last year's best foreign film Oscar-nominated entry A Royal Affair; Dean Israelite, the helmer behind Paramount's upcoming sci-fi time-travel movie Welcome to Yesterday; and Jonathan Levine, the filmmaker behind Warm Bodies and 50/50.

Jon Aibel and Glenn Berger, the writers behind the Kung Fu Panda movies, are also in the mix, not to direct the movie but to pen the screenplay.

The only movies on that list that I've seen is Warm Bodies.
Brave and 50/50 I have on DVD but haven't gotten around to watching yet.

What do you guys think of the directorial choices? Are they quality?

Well Avengers 2 is being shot in south Africa so Wakanda might be in the movie.

As for strange think he works better as a Netflix series than a film. Hopefully when they bring him in he had actual magic instead the eye of agamotto is an Infinity stone route they're sure to go.

There was video of the Africa scene being shot, it was The Hulk related, next they are shooting in South Korea. Not ruling out Wakanda, but the shoot they just did was supposedly not related to it.

Out of that list, I have to say Mark Andrew.  Brave had enough elements in it that it wouldn't have taken much to change it into something in Dr.Strange's wheel house.

Was just about to post that. Will probably pick up thor this weekend since i haven't seen it yet.


I wonder what the next two One shots will be based upon. All of the shorts have been stand alone and used recurring characters thus far. I'm guessing The Winter Solider and something related to the Nova Corps.

a lot of the one shots have dealt with something from the previous movie.

So keeping that trend, the One Shot added to Cap 2's DVD release may be something relating to Thor 3.
possibly Loki on the throne. or Lady Sif and the Warriors 3 crusading the 9 realms.
Alternatively, it could be SHIELD/HYDRA related or even GotG related.

Hopefully it's a Hawkguy short, since I guess he wasn't in the Cap 2 movie. It can cover what he was doing while the whole movie was taking place. Maybe he was on administrative leave, or vacation time or something. It should be a 15 minute short for "A Day in the Life of Hawkguy"  sort of hyping him up for Avengers 2, and testing the waters for a limited short series starring Hawkguy.
a series of 15-20 minutes shorts covering the adventures of Hawkguy (guess starring appearances including Black Widow, Fury, Hawkgirl, and whoever else is in that series.) to be an additional extra on the Marvel DVD's along side the now traditional "One-Shot".
I'm sure Renner would be more than up for something like that.
