"Xbox Live" type service on Wii?
« on: May 10, 2006, 05:57:00 PM »
I was just wondering whether nintendo was planning to have a service like that of Xbox Live on the 360. I have a 360 and being able to play against people online is definately one one of the best parts of the 360 for me. There's no question that the Wii will be worth getting even with  out one, but it would certainly be a big plus.

Wouldn't the Connect24 (I think thats the name) thing take care of this?  There is online play but how it is implemented I don't know but I'm pretty sure it is free.

Even though I can see all the benefits of the Wii being connected 24-7.  I still hope you can turn the feature off.  I don't want my Wii leaching my bandwidth all the time.  It could push my download limits over!!

Just tell your router to not give Wii any connection between the hours of (blank) and (blank) or not at all, or just encase your Wii in a lead box.
