Topic: Animal Crossing help

I just got this game imported, and have to say its great. However, i'm most concerned for the well being of the mayor, hes been missing since the first day when i had to speak to him/meet him. Today being town day, I thought he might return but he seems to be still missing.

Is it possible for him to leave town? or is there something wrong with my game

First, there is a Gameplay Help section for these questions.  Second, the mayor rarely shows up, usually on Holidays.  It's kind of weird, but that's the way it is.
