Prince of Persia The Two Thrones

Ubisoft reveals the official title for the third installment in the Prince of Persia® franchise

London, UK -21st September, 2005 - Today, Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, announced the official subtitle for the next video game in the critically-acclaimed Prince of Persia franchise, Prince of Persia The Two ThronesTM. Scheduled to release in December 2005, Prince of Persia The Two Thrones takes the best features of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time and Prince of Persia Warrior WithinTM, and combines them with new gameplay elements such as a second playable character, an intuitive Speed Kill system, outdoor Babylon environment, chariot combat racing and more. With such elements, Prince of Persia The Two Thrones is poised to take the action-adventure gaming experience to a new level.

"Prince of Persia The Two Thrones will allow players to explore the two different sides of the Prince's divided soul," said Yannis Mallat, executive producer for Prince of Persia The Two Thrones. "The Prince will battle with his inner demons and explore his alter ego. He'll struggle with the boundaries between good and evil in his quest to regain his rightful place as ruler of Babylon."

About Prince of Persia The Two Thrones   The Prince of Persia makes his way home to Babylon, along with Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time, and unspeakable scars from the Island of Time. But instead of the peace he longs for, he finds his kingdom ravaged by war and Kaileena the target of a brutal plot. When she is kidnapped, the Prince tracks her to the Palace - only to see her murdered by a powerful enemy. Her death unleashes the Sands of Time, which strike the Prince and threaten to destroy everything he holds dear. Cast to the streets, hunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that the Sands have tainted him, too. They have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him ...

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones is to be released in December 2005 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft, the Nintendo GameCubeTM and the PC-CD Rom.

More like the evil Vizier Jafaar threatend to kill the Princess within an hour, unless she married him, thereby making him ruler of all Persia. He created a giant hourglass to count the hour down. And cursed the future Prince, forcing him to jump through a tainted mirror, unleashing the evil shadow future Prince upon the dungeons. Our hero must have faith in himself to overcome the adversaries in his way and become one with the Shadow to finally face Jafaar.

Jordan Merchner made a far better story up millions of years ago. He showed Ubi Soft hwo to do it in Sands of Time but NO NO FUKIN NO. They jettison him and go and make rubbish Prince of Gothic France

Maybe I shouldnt' have read this press release. I only played bits and pieces of part 2 at my friends house (who insists its better than the first, despite showing empirical evidence proving otherwise); now the ending is somewhat spoiled for me...

But what from what I've played, the presentation seemed forced. Blood was there for the sake of blood for example. I can only hope that they somehow make the presentation a little more nuanced, as opposed to this 'extreme-in-your-face' attitude this time around.

PoPWW's soundtrack was mediocre by itself and completely out of place in the game.
