Need Help With Folder Settings
« on: August 21, 2004, 10:21:10 PM »
This is really starting to piss me off.

For some reason the settings for my folders, like how they are arranged and the appearance of the files, keeps being changed to what is apparently the default setting. What the hell is causing this, and what can I do to stop it?

I've had this problem for sometime, but it usually only happened once a month. Now it happens every damn time I reboot.

Okay, the problem with that is that I don't want all my folders to have the same setting. For instance, for my pic folders I like to use thumbnail view but for my music folders I use list.

I don't think the explorer actually pics up a new style upon directory change, but you can define the styles on the "entrypoints". If, e.g. you have a link to your games folder and click it, then change the view settings, tthen close explorer, the settings will be used again the next time you click on the games folder link, but not if you browse there from some other link (e.g. My Computer).
