Both Sora and Riku will be playable characters in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts title for 3DS.

In a discussion with Degenki, Kingdom Hearts creator and lead designer Tetsuya Nomura discussed the themes behind Kingdom Hearts 3DS’s story. While he didn’t dive into the details of the story, Nomura did state that the game would be about having trust in others.

Nomura briefly mentioned a new aspect of the gameplay. Players will be able to play as both Sora and Riku and switch between them.

Siliconera reported that Nomura recently posted on the twitter page for the 3rd Birthday PSP game, stating that he spent a full day discussing Kingdom Hearts 3DS in a Tokyo meeting.
