Mega Man’s Five Best and Worst Robot Masters

Best Robot Masters

The top bad bots.

Skull Man

Skull Man was, forcibly, made by Dr. Cossack for Dr. Wily. It's not surprising either as Dr. Wily seems to have a thing for Skulls so this aesthetic makes a lot of sense.

Skull Man himself is a menacing character that's hard to forget. His bone filled stage helps add to his cool factor. Additionally, one of his abilities is to surround himself with a shield of four Skulls. Tell me this guy isn't cool.

Metal Man

Metal Man was, arguably, one of the most menacing looking bosses by the time Mega Man 2 released. He even fiercely attacks Mega Man during his fight by whirling multiple metal blades as attacks.

Oddly, though, Metal Man isn't nearly a fierce as he looks. He's one of the best choices for Mega Man to take down at the start of the game. Fortunately he isn't the easiest Robot Master in the franchises history, but his Metal Blade weapon might be one of the best. It can be shot by Mega Man in eight directions, uses up few resources, and even kills Metal Man himself in one or two hits. Because of his coolness factor, and his overpowered weapon, Metal Man makes the list.

Splash Woman

While not the first robot with a female personality in the Mega Man series, Splash Woman is the only female Robot Master, and that's pretty cool. She was included in Mega Man 9 and to this day I don't quite understand why there haven't been more female foes for Mega Man to tackle in both Mega Man 10 and 11.

Splash Woman broke ground in the Mega Man franchise and that deserves recognition.

Guts Man

Guts Man is one of the most iconic villains in Mega Man history. This is probably because he's one of the first Robot Masters, being in the original Mega Man, as well as being a main villain in the original American Mega Man animated series. He is also one heck of a hulking bot with insane strength.

In Mega Man 7 a modified version of Guts Man, known as Guts Man G, is used as a Dr. Wily stage boss. I can't think of other robot masters that have come back like this, other than the Mega Man 2 bosses sort of found in Mega Man 3. So clearly both the Mega Man designers and Wily himself have some sort of attachment to Guts Man.

Gemini Man

Gemini Man is one of the most unique Robot Masters in Mega Man history. Why? When the battle against this guy starts he splits in two! Sure, the fight isn't extremely difficult, but it sure is memorable.

As a big fan of the Ice Climbers in the Smash Bros. series it's no wonder that this character makes my list.
